You all have played pivotal roles in our lives, and we can’t imagine not having you as part of this joyous occasion. It brings us so much joy to know that our loved ones will get a chance to meet each other while celebrating our love. On a rainy day in Baltimore, Norma reluctantly gave Hinge one last try and matched with Edgar on March 22, 2022. Edgar, moments away from deleting the app, was instantly captivated by Norma's radiant smile and unique dislike for mangoes. They hit it off immediately, messaging each other throughout Norma's travels. After several weeks and missed opportunities, they finally had their first date on April 9th, 2022. They talked for hours about Star Wars, Marvel movies, music, and their shared dreams, staying at the restaurant until closing. Despite a few more delays, including Edgar catching COVID-19, they soon realized they were ready to delete Hinge for good. Their relationship blossomed, with Edgar planning a romantic way to ask Norma to be his girlfriend. After a few failed attempts due to Norma’s travels and stomach bugs, he finally asked her on August 20th, 2022. Norma's free spirit and outgoing nature transformed Edgar's view of life. They traveled to many new places together, enjoying the world side by side. Just one year after Edgar asked her out, they moved into their first apartment with their fur baby, Leia. That December, at Norma's sister's wedding, they were asked over 100 times when they were getting married. While they laughed it off, Edgar had already concocted a plan to propose. Over the course of 6 months, Edgar organized secret Zoom calls with Norma’s sisters and friends, bought and hid the ring in his guitar case, and made sure all proposal purchases were sent to his friend‘s home to avoid any suspicion. Edgar also took advantage of every one of Norma’s work trips, late nights at work, and sister hangouts to carefully plan out every scenario. The big day eventually came on July 6, 2024. One carefully planned brunch & fake blink-182 concert later, Edgar proposed on the sands of Manhattan Beach surrounded by over 30 close friends and loved ones. Norma and Edgar have truly discovered the magic behind the saying "opposites attract." Edgar's thoughtful, introverted nature and Norma's vibrant, extroverted spirit create a perfect harmony. Their love story is a testament to how beautifully two different worlds can come together.
