5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
At Japanese weddings, men typically wear suits with colored ties. Women wear dresses, usually knee-length. Some women prefer to wear a long dress for evening receptions. Best to avoid showing any shoulder. Should you wear a dress that reveals your shoulders, you should cover them up with a shawl or a bolero. For both men and women, avoid white clothes, black ties and casual or outlandish clothing.
The main reception will begin at 5:00pm at the 39th Floor Ballroom of The Park Hyatt Tokyo. Following the reception, we will move to the "Venetian Room" on the same floor for an "after party" of dancing, cocktails and light snacks. There is no obligation to stay for the after party and those who wish to retire following the reception and dinner are free to do so, though we encourage you to stay and let loose on the dance floor! If you are not staying at the Park Hyatt, we recommend taking a taxi to the Park Hyatt or making use of the Park Hyatt's shuttle bus from Shinjuku Station. Most taxi drivers should know the hotel, but just in case the address is 3-7-1 Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 163-1055. Please make sure not to confuse the Park Hyatt with the Grand Hyatt (a different hotel in a different part of the city).
