We're getting hitched!

The story, Rachel's version: We first "met" on a dating app. I know. But, trust me not the one you are thinking about. We both were just bored with dating and didn't think anything would come of it. We clicked almost immediately, but both of us were super busy from jobs to music to family. Timing to meet face to face never was an option at first. I started getting annoyed with the app and deleted my account, until a few days later a co-worker talked me into downloading it again. Secretly, I was so mad that I never got James' number. After a long day of work, HE FOUND ME! New profile name and everything! After a couple more months of talking we met face to face at White Rock Lake (Winfrey Point) to walk the lake. Myself in appropriate walking gear. James in appropriate first date gear including not comfortable walking shoes. So very cute really. Cooper in his harness...well kind of, as soon as James arrived Cooper saw him first and broke out his harness (which to this day I don't know how he did it) and ran right up to James like he knew him. If you know Cooper, you know this is not like him. The rest leads up to to now... I will forever be grateful that he found me the second time and that Cooper chose him to be our forever person. That day change the rest of my life, even though I didn't know it yet. And...like I said, I will be forever grateful.

The Proposal, Jame's Version I always had a good feeling it was going to happen. But, didn’t have a when and a where until May 24, 2019. That was when I knew the where...we would go back to the place we met, Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake. So that brings us to having to figure out the rest of the logistics. Mia and I waited for a good opportunity and went to the jewelry store. We made a trip to go pick out the ring. Then we made plans to go for a walk at White Rock. The first date failed due to weather conditions, thunderstorms don't make for great "let's go for a walk" weather. Finally, weather conditions were on the up and up and we made plans one weekend to make it out there. I talked the girls into going to get their nails done, step 2 complete. That Saturday we set our trip to head towards White Rock for a walk around the lake. Upon arriving to the lake it was pretty busy, lots of people around being nice weather and all. I wanted to propose very close to the spot where we met. So as we walked around a bit to allow people to move away from the prime location. I waited until some people cleared away and had Mia waiting so she could take pictures and film it. So all the pieces were in place. To get closer to the spot we actually met we headed back towards the car. The whole time I figured she was going to notice this giant ring box in my pocket. It was not small and my hand was in my pocket the whole time. Rachel couldn’t figure out why we were lingering back and she was nearly in full stride to head back and I had to grab her by the hand to slow her down because otherwise I would of just been on my knee 50 feet behind her and I am not sure she would of known why! So anyways I started my little speech of how I loved her and wanted to marry her, and got down on my knee and she joyously accepted. (Rachel's add-on: I was in full stride because I was being a brat about having to go back to the car for Malia's water. That story for another day.)
