During our senior year of high school, we shared an astronomy class. Matthew had been building up the courage to ask Katherine to the prom, but just as he planned to, the entire world shut down due to the pandemic. Six months later, we started talking, and Katherine agreed to go on our first date on October 4, 2020. We went for a short hike in Rockville. Fast forward 4.5 years: after many more dates and adventures, Matthew proposed on May 16, 2025, at our Airbnb in the Finger Lakes, New York.
