Enjoy a tour of the nature center and view the wolves, foxes, and coyotes from a distance of only 4 feet away! Educated, dedicated volunteers are available and will introduce you to the animals, teach about their diets, their habitats, and their stories. Take lots of photos, have lunch in the picnic area, visit Native American tipis, watch educational videos, learn how our solar system powers the facilities at Wolf Mountain, and pick out some souvenirs in the gift shop cabin. The annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta is held every Memorial Day Weekend on the Susquehanna River, from Cooperstown to Bainbridge. The regatta draws enthusiastic crowds from all over the US, Canada, Europe, and South America. Since the first race in 1963, the Regatta has grown from a one-day event to 4 days of canoe races, a 5k run, wrestling tournament, carnival rides, entertainment, food, fireworks, and more. Canasawacta Country Club, overlooking the Chenango Valley, spans 158 picturesque acres of rolling and hilly terrain. The original 9 holes were opened for play in 1920. It operated as a private club until 1950. The additional 9 holes were added in 1968. Today, Canasawacta is open to the public for Greens Fees. Bowman Lake State Park is a 1,000-acre retreat known as "a camper's paradise." Scenic park roads wind through evergreen and hardwood forests to shady campsites. There is a sandy lakefront with several picnic areas nearby. The lake is regularly stocked with trout, and birdwatchers can spot as many as 103 species of birds. The park also has a nature center and a nine-hole disc golf course! Bowman Lake offers "rustic" cabins. These cabins are the perfect in-between for campers who like tents and cabins. They offer 4- and 6-person cabins with no electricity or water (with the exception of Cabin 60, which has electricity). No pets are allowed in Cabin 60, 146B and 146C.
