Dorita noticed Miguel for being such a class clown! Also, for flirting with her (then again, he flirted with a lot of girls). Dorita’s way of flirting back was allowing him to use her class notes (Lol). They kept their romance at minimum as a close friendship until after they graduated from Westbury High School. Dorita and Miguel started hanging out in the same friend group; meeting at someone’s house, going out for a bite, or even just playimg video games. They both expected to see each other anytime their group got together. It became weird whenever, singularly, either he or she was there but the other one was not. Of course, the butterflies within them each and every time they saw each other was their main indication of something sweet starting to grow.
It Was Josefina’s Quinceañera (Dorita’s baby sister), and Miguel had previously gotten her permission to steal the stage for a few minutes. Everyone was gathered around to do a toast to Josefina, when the DJ asks Dorita to step into the center of the dance floor. She was a little confused because it was her sister’s night to shine not hers. So Dorita thought that Josefina might be giving her a little thank you speech for helping out with the Quinceañera. Then the Beatles’ ‘Here Comes The Sun’ starts playing! Dorita, still confused, looked towards the DJs booth trying to figure out what was going on. She then saw Miguel step out from the crowd. He was cheesing from ear to ear! Everyone around both of them blurred out in her perifiral vision once she locked eyes with Miguel and figured what was about to happen. Miguel got close to her and whispered sweet nothings in her ear and her eyes teared up. He got down on one knee to ask for her hand in Marriage!! Everyone in the Hall was in unison with their ‘Woo’s and ‘Ahh’s!!! Dorita burst into tears as she answered to him; YES!!!
