We’re getting married!

We met on a surfing trip through the adventure program at California State University, San Bernardino. We spent the drive down to Oceanside getting to know each other and the other students on the trip, but once we hit the beach, we both got shy. Alissa remembers thinking Dillon was a great surfer and Dillon remembers how Alissa was the most beautiful girl on the beach. After returning to campus, Alissa gathered the courage to ask for a ride home and ended the night by saying “We should hangout sometime!”. We quickly connected on social media and our first date soon followed.

Disguised as a Valentine’s getaway, Dillon planned the most perfect proposal. We were walking along the beach, reminiscing about the day we met when Dillon led Alissa to a surfboard that had been set up in the sand. All Dillon could think about was not messing up the proposal and how happy Alissa was about to be as they began their new journey together. As they got closer, she saw the words “Will you marry me?” written across it. Alissa’s heart skipped a beat. It was the same beach where our journey had begun, and she had no idea this moment was coming. Alissa couldn’t believe it—she was completely caught off guard. Alissa looked at Dillon, and the overwhelming surprise and joy in her heart made it impossible for her to hold back tears. After Alissa said “Yes!”, we took engagement photos with the photographer Dillon hired for the special moment and ended the night with a romantic, candle lit dinner.
