This is a love story that starts on Noche Buena of 2018. Destiny swiped right first, I think she loved Meyri's bold red lipstick. After seeing a cute picture of Destiny overlooking Machu Picchu, Meyri decided to swipe right too! (No, they were not on the "Tinder" app, they were using something safer and less scandalous, like the "HER" app.) The conversation started off very slow, actually they both consider it as "boring". They both were busy and didn't really have time for a conversation, and they both were "dating" other people! (I know, the drama). But one night, after Destiny had gotten home from her boring date with someone else and Meyri had gotten off the phone from a very boring conversation, the too single ladies hit it off. They were both amused about meeting another lesbian educated Dominican! They talked all night (well until their bedtime which is like 9pm) and started setting up physical dates. By the time of their first date, they had 3 dates planned! And because of Meyri’s infatuation with coffee and never actually being in a “real” coffee shop, their very first date was at a coffee shop called “The Treehouse Café”. [Fun Fact: this is the same coffee shop where Meyri proposed.] Meyri was the first one inside, waiting patiently. Destiny was inside her car waiting for her nerves to calm down. After like 10 minutes, Destiny finally walks in with a grin on her face and walks towards Meyri who stands up to hug her but then was quickly embarrassed when she dropped her chair after standing. Destiny chuckled, but little did she know that the “clumsy overly joyed giggly woman”, would be the one she is marrying 4 years later.
