It was the Fall of 2010 when Wendy and Brian's love story first began, just two eighteen-year old’s looking for something to do on a Saturday night. Wendy was visiting her friends at Bryant University which also happened to be where Brian was a freshman in college; they somehow crossed paths that night and exchanged numbers. They spent the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving break getting to know each other, their likes, dislikes and most importantly their mutual love of candy. Their first date was to a Harry Potter movie, which could be the dumbest decision Brian has made to date; he spent the entire night politely answering all of Wendy's questions and ended up having to re-watch the movie. Let's just say their first date did not go as planned and there was no kiss at the end of the date, but it must not have been THAT bad because they have been inseparable ever since. Now, nearly ten years after our horrible first date, we are finally ready to start the next chapter of our lives together and officially tie the knot. We could not be more excited to share our special day with everyone near and dear to our hearts.
It started off just like an average Saturday morning at the Tran-DelDebbio household. Brian slept in with Tucker while I went to a workout class and ran a few errands. We had plans to head into the city for a belated anniversary dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, BondSt so Brian suggested we take Tucker to Tod’s Point to tire him out before heading to dinner. I wanted to leave the minute we got there; I begged Brian to leave but he insisted we take Tucker on a walk. It was gorgeous out despite the frigid temperatures; the sky was so clear that you could see the Manhattan skyline from the Adirondack chairs. I was miserable and freezing by the time we reached the chairs; all I wanted to do was take a break and enjoy the view, but Brian had something else in mind. Next thing I knew Brian was down on one knee asking me to be his wife and to spend the rest of my life with him. I must have blacked out from the cold or shock because I don’t remember much after that, but I do remember the look on Brian’s face when I said yes and how perfect the proposal was. No photographers lurking in the background like I always imagined, no onlookers, just something special between Brian, Tucker and me. I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal.
