Welcome to our wedding website! Please refer back to this website often as it will constantly be updated with information as we near our wedding day. We are so excited to host you for our wedding in Isla Mujeres, Mexico! Isla Mujeres is a small 4.3 mile-long island off the coast of Cancun. It is very easy to get to with a quick 15 minute ferry ride once you arrive in Cancun (see our other tabs for more information on that). We chose Isla Mujeres because of the gorgeous beaches as well as all the fun activities to do on the island-- many of which will be incorporated into our wedding events! He loves tacos and backyard Texas sunsets, has a hard outer shell but is known to shed a tear or two when watching his three little ladies experience joy and is annoyingly awesome at anything he dedicates his mind to. She loves taking pictures, has a soft spot for cheesy rom-coms, starting projects and neglecting to finish them and a very generous heart for wanting to help others….sometimes too many at once ! Welcome to “Devine Intervention”…or the plot to an AMAZING Hollywood movie…NY Times best selling book…..or at least …a spot on the Hallmark Channel… hahahaha…We kinda love our story and thank you for being a part of it in one way or another. Liz & Dave met shortly after both experiencing the worst of times in each of their lives. Living in the same neighborhood, they met at the annual Easter Egg Hunt where they were both hoping to add some normalcy back into their kiddos’ lives. Liz was introduced to Dave when he was standing among a group of protective moms. When an awkward silence fell upon the crowd….shy little Liz, who was still fresh in her recent loss, unexpectedly walked right up to Dave to express her sorrow for his recent loss and to let him know that she was available to help him with anything he needed when it came to raising his daughter…since she was in the same boat now raising her two little ladies solo. Liz just assumed that he would need all the help he could get…single dad….with a daughter….with curly hair….he was for sure going to be hopeless. Well, you know what they say when you assume?! Turns out Dave rewrites the definition for a perfect father…devoted, confident and beyond patient. He provided more help to Liz than she ever knew she needed. Texts of support turned into playdates for the girls ….playdates turned into adult lunch dates…lunch turned into dinners. Their ability to genuinely relate to one another truly helped to grow their relationship organically….Oh and there’s that little idea of “Devine intervention” too! Fast forward a few years to May of 2022. While on a trip to San Diego to celebrate Liz’s 40th birthday, Dave planned a romantic proposal in the Newport Beach Harbor. What he did not plan on was the coldest “May- Gray” weather, the most awkward singing gondolier that Newport Beach had to offer and Liz missing the message in a bottle floating by the boat. Through laughs and smiles, Liz eagerly said YES to Dave and then warmed up at a celebration dinner with Dave’s best friends. Liz & Dave decided on a destination wedding knowing that life is short and it is meant to be lived. They hope you are able to take a few days off from your hectic life to celebrate their new story in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Beautiful bride, handsome groom, booze, great food & bad dance moves….you in or what?!
