Flight

Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport

We recommend flying into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV). The airport is roughly 12 miles northwest of the Historic District, with several options for onward transportation. Jacksonville International Airport and Charleston International Airport are additional options, both within two hours or so of Savannah. If you are traveling to the Golden Isles or Hilton Head, the small Brunswick Golden Isles Airport and Hilton Head Island Airport also receive some commercial flights.

Getting Around

A car is not necessary to tour the Downtown Historic District where we will be spending the majority of our wedding weekend, and there is plenty of free transportation in the area. But with a car there are countless thing to see and do should you decide to extend your trip and leave the downtown area. There are several car rental options at the airport, and Lyft and Uber are relatively inexpensive. Check out our Things To Do page for some ideas!

Free Express Shuttle

What's the perfect way to get around the Historic District? Just catch a CAT! The Chatham Area Transit (affectionately known as CAT) offers the free "dot" shuttle that circulates throughout historic downtown Savannah. The dot is comprised of two loops, Forsyth and Downtown, which connect residents and visitors to Savannah’s visitor centers, parking facilities, area attractions, shops, restaurants and hotels. The shuttle arrives every ten minutes at 18 stops throughout the Historic District and is available seven days a week. Click below for route maps, schedules, and more.

Savannah Belles Ferry

Even better than the free shuttle, is the free Savannah Belles Ferry! It runs all day long between the Downtown Riverfront to The Westin...a quick and fun five minute ride to our wedding venue! This easy and convenient ferry is the perfect way to get to and from the Historic District without having worry to about parking. It is a great resource for those staying at The Westin and those visiting just for the wedding night. See their schedule here:

Getting to Know the Historic District

• The Historic District covers 2 square miles and is approximately 1.5 miles, north to south, from River Street to Forsyth Park, and approximately 1 mile east to west, from East Broad to Martin Luther King Blvd. • Bull Street is the dividing line between east and west. On the south side are odd-numbered buildings, on the north side even numbered. • It is approximately 12 blocks wide and 21 blocks high. The number of blocks will vary depending upon which street you are on. • It is bounded by: North side: Bay Street South side: Park Avenue East side: E.
