It was a summer evening at a patio bar. Daniels friend recognized Lauren’s cousin from across the room and made his way over to talk to her. Daniel and Lauren hit it off right then. It was such a coincidence their last names were only one letter different. They all continued to party that night and Daniel left with Lauren’s phone number. They went on one date that summer. Daniel picked Lauren up at her house in Littleton and took her to a Rockies game. They then made their way to a dance floor where they danced the night away at their, now local watering hole. As four years passed Daniel always found a way to talk to Lauren. He would surprise her at work, at Ed Bozarth for lunch. When Lauren was in college Daniel would call to meet at up in Greeley on his way to Fort Collins (GO RAMS). After their first date, Daniel would call Lauren every time he was at the Rockies game. In 2009, Lauren happened to also be at the field when Daniel made that call! Time passed and their lives moved on independently, but there was always that spark.
One night in 2011, Daniel asked Lauren to go on an official first, second, date. They planed to meet to watch the Broncos game on a rooftop downtown. Again at first glance they were connected to each other. After the game they continued their conversation through dinner at the Yard House. As they left the restaurant a horse and carriage pulled up to give them a ride around the city. From that moment on they spent every day together.
It wasn't long until Daniel felt comfortable introducing Lauren to his 4 year old son, Jayden. Jayden and Lauren also had that instant connection. Day's before Jayden's 5th birthday, Lauren asked Jayden how old he would be turning. Jayden (sly, like his dad) responded (after counting on all his fingers) "10 years old!" Lauren knew right then this was a perfect match. The duo soon, became a trio and we did just about everything fun together! From road trips to Mt. Rushmore and California, to RAMS vs Boise State games (GO RAMS!) this trio seemed perfect. Until, in early 2014 a surprise baby was to be expected at the end of September. October 2, 2014, Adalynn Rae was added to the mix!
It was mid December, 2016, while Daniel was shopping for Christmas presents, when he decided it was time to buy a ring for Lauren. That day he called Lauren's dad, Rodney, to meet up for a beer and ask him for his daughters hand in marriage. On December 21st, Lauren was getting antsy about finishing up final holiday shopping. Daniel arranged for Grandma Shell to watch the kids while the couple finished up their shopping. 15 minutes after dropping the kids off at Michele's, Lauren noticed they were not just going to "finish up their holiday shopping"! Daniel surprised Lauren with a down town dinner at the Yard House. After dinner they met up with a horse and carriage, that toured them around downtown viewing all the cities Christmas lights. On the 16th Street Mall Daniel got on one knee and asked Lauren to be his wife. Lauren, didn't hesitate to say, YES!
Daniel and Lauren were in no rush to jump into a relationship, but they did when it felt most right. Daniel and Lauren were in no rush, after starting that relationship to start a family, but they did it when it most felt right. Daniel didn't pop the question when both families and friends started pressuring, but did when it most felt right. Lauren & Daniel set this date, Novemebr 2, 2019, because IT FELT RIGHT! We love eachother and would be so humbled to host you as witnesses of our declaration of love.
