Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Dani Johnson and Sibyl Muñoz
The area surrounding Benton Harbor is beautiful in the fall. Nearby St. Joe is especially worth checking out, with its cute downtown shops and views of Lake Michigan.

Kal-Haven Trail

Kal-Haven Trail

Kal-Haven Trailhead, South Haven, MI 49090
, (269) 637-2788

The Kal-Haven trail is a beautiful 33-mile long trail resting on an abandoned railroad bed constructed in 1871. It connects South Haven, on the shore of Lake Michigan about a half an hour from Benton Harbor, to Kalamazoo. It's great for walking, biking, and even horseback riding on certain stretches.

Scenic Drive

Scenic Drive

3880 Red Arrow Hwy, Benton Harbor, MI 49022

Michigan is known for having some of the most scenic roads to travel in the fall when the leaves have changed colors. A great route for a beautiful drive starts by taking I-196 north. I just learned this is part of a byway called the West Michigan Pike, which has its own theme song and video (!!!). Check it out using the "View" link below. If you head in this direction, consider checking out some of the cute beach towns along the way—South Haven, Holland, and Saugatuck are a few of my favorites.
