FAQs

Question

What will camping be like and what gear will I need?

Answer

Have no fear, this wedding weekend is not like one of our crazy backpacking adventures. We want to make this a chill easy camping weekend. Gear: Everyone who wants to camp should have: A tent and sleeping gear Layers - expect hot and sunny days, but Utah evenings can be cold Flashlight/headlamp Refillable water bottle. We will have 5 gallon jugs for drinking water around all the group sites. Camp Chairs There are bathrooms and several showers at the campground. Lastly, the park is located 1 mile from downtown Ogden and lots of grocery stores. So if we need anything, it will be easy to run out for resupply.

Question

Do I need to cook my own food and bring kitchen gear?

Answer

There is no need to bring your own kitchen set up or cookstoves, because most meals for the weekend are provided for (see schedule). We will also set up a group kitchen area with basics so that no one has to travel with kitchen/cooking gear. Odgen restaurants are also only 5 minute drive away so if you desperately need coffee, food etc. It is not a big trek.

Question

I am coming from out of town and can't bring camping equipment. Can I still camp?

Answer

Yes! We will be using the University of Utah outdoor rec center for rental tents and sleeping gear. You may also be able to borrow sleeping gear from one of our local friends. See the "Borrowing Gear" tab of the RideShare + Volunteer + Gear board here: http://bit.ly/4tehjhN We will reach out to the out-of-towners as the date nears to ensure everyone who needs camping gear is covered.

Question

Can I shower at the campground?

Answer

Yes! There are several showers available at the campground ($5 per person). We will have a sign-up schedule for showering on the afternoon prior to the ceremony, so that we can coordinate this with the camp hosts who manage the shower.

Question

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

Absolutely! It's a kid-friendly park. Be careful on the playground (we assume no liability).

Question

Can I bring my pet?

Answer

Yes, but PLEASE NOTE Pets must be on a leash at all times, even inside your campsite and under constant control of their owner while in the park. Leash length 6' maximum. Please clean up all messes from your pet.

Question

Is there drinking water

Answer

Yes! Several spigots around the campground have access to drinking water. We will also coordinate water jugs around the campground so there will be relatively easy access to water for the events.

Question

Can I bring an RV?

Answer

Yes, but: No direct water hookups allowed. No dumping gray/black water. Do not hook hoses to park spigots. We also have somewhat limited space for these so please let us know when you RSVP!

Answer

We will have a bar set up and lots of cooler space. Note the alcohol in containers larger than 32 ounces is prohibited, so please no kegs, handles or giant boxes of wine :)

Gates are open 7 AM – 9 PM. You can always leave but can't drive back into the park after 9 PM. Camp hosts do not recommend parking outside the gate for safety purposes, so please be sure to parking within the gate if you are staying at the campground.

Question

I want to take the train to the wedding on Friday. Can I return to SLC on Sunday by train, too?

Question

What time can we arrive and when do we need to leave?

Answer

Check-in: 1:00 PM on Thursday June 4th Check-out: 12:00 PM Monday June 8th

Question

Is there a dress code or theme?

Answer

Wear anything that will make you feel happy and comfortable in potentially hot weather and potentially cool nights. If you want a guideline, search "western" or "garden attire" (sundresses, floral prints, shirts/pants/shorts with light hues, and fun hats). The dance floor will be a firm dirt parking lot, so plan on bringing comfortable shoes to boogie in.

Question

Will I have fun?

Answer

Yes, if you want to!
