Briq's Soft Serve

With another location just blocks from our home, it’s a frequent stop for us; and, of course, for Griffin, too!

Rib Mountain State Park
One of the oldest geological formations on Earth, Rib Mountain State Park boasts stunning views of the Wisconsin River and Wausau area. In fall, visitors flock here for vibrant foliage, with breathtaking panoramas from scenic overlooks or the 60-foot observation tower. Fall chairlift ride dates are yet to be announced. Say tuned! The estimated peak for fall colors is the week of our wedding, making it the perfect time to experience nature’s stunning transformation.
Riverlife Park
A scenic spot along the Wisconsin River, Riverlife Park offers paved trails, a splash pad, playground, fishing access, and a kayak launch. Relax by the gas fireplace in Adirondack chairs or challenge yourself on the obstacle course. A great place to unwind and explore.
Rock Ridge Orchard
A family-owned apple orchard offering over 30 varieties of apples, fresh cider, homemade bakery treats, and seasonal events. With wagon rides, a petting zoo, and a cider bar, this orchard is perfect for fall fun. Fun fact: One of my former nursing instructors founded this orchard with her family 20 years ago while also working as an instructor at the local college.

Just a few blocks from our home, Velveteen Plum is Wausau’s first rooftop restaurant and bar, offering bold Latin flavors, eclectic wines, and expertly crafted cocktails. With stunning views and a lively atmosphere, it provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience. We’re especially excited to celebrate my bridal shower here, making it even more special!
