Since the wedding is taking place on an island, there is a strict schedule for travelling to/from the wedding. There will only be one charter boat that guests will take to the island that departs at 3:00PM so you cannot miss that boat or you will be unable to attend the wedding. All the following events will take place on the island: the Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Dinner, and Dancing. We set up an RSVP for the Dinner so we could collect dietary restriction/allergy information, so please know there is no option to only attend the Ceremony or the Dinner, it's all or nothing! At the end of the night, the charter boat will take everyone back to the City at 10:00PM. We are able to arrange early departure on a separate boat at 8:30PM to the EDIC Dock in South Boston, however there is limited space and this will need to be specifically arranged ahead of time. Please let us know if this is something you may be interested in when you RSVP. We will prioritize the needs of our older guests based on capacity limits.
It’d be helpful to get your RSVPs in as soon as possible. If you submit your RSVP early and something comes up, you are always able to revisit the site and change your RSVP options! We will need a final headcount by July 1, so please make sure you finalize your RSVPS by then. Let us know if we can help in any way and do not hesitate to reach out if you are unsure about anything!
Any food allergies should be noted in your RSVP for the Dinner. We will work with you and Thompson Island to figure out how to best accommodate you! It should be noted that Thompson Island is a Peanut Free island. All stationary food will have place cards indicating Gluten Free, Nut Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc.
We will be throwing on colorful, fun and fancy fits that can withstand the summer heat. Even though it will be mid-summer in the city there is always a breeze off the harbor, so be prepared with layers as needed. Below are some general guidelines to help you put together your outfit (if you are anything like me you may want to look this up since I would had no idea how to categorize this without the help of google) We are aiming for semi-formal/festive outfits for the event: - Suit jackets or blazers - Dress shirts, Collared shirts, button downs, fancy favorites, etc. - Suit pants, khakis, slacks, dressy/Bermuda shorts (it is an island wedding after all!) - Dresses, skirts, a fashionable two piece or jumpsuit perhaps - Dress shoes, loafers, dressy sandals or flats. *If you are planning on wearing heeled shoes, please make sure you wear something with a chunky/sturdy bottom because we will be on grass and dirt so pointy heels will sink into the ground! You all know I am no stranger to color so please do not hold back. We want you to have fun dressing up but also be comfortable to party all night with us! We unfortunately cannot afford a plus one for every guest so whatever you’ve been allotted in the RSVP section is what we’ve planned for. You are always welcome to reach out to us directly in case we have extra space closer to the event but no guarantees!
No parking necessary as we are chartering the boat to and from the island. If you need to park a car while you are at the wedding, we recommend the following parking garages which are closest to Long Wharf: Boston Harbor Garage at 266 Atlantic Ave 200 State St Garage at 200 State Street Rowes Wharf Garage at 30 Rowes Wharf SP+ Parking at 5 Broad Street Keep in mind parking in Boston tends to be on the more expensive side but it is usually cheaper over the weekends! There are no shortage of parking garages so you are bound to find many more with a slightly longer walk.
