Crystal and Carter met in November 2021 on an online dating app. This might sound unremarkable in this day and age, but in reality it was anything but. Because prior to November 2021, Carter had zero experience with online dating. And what’s more, the groomsmen who helped Carter build his online profile, Jonathan Walther, had no experience either. It truly was the blind leading the blind. On one noteworthy crack at cuteness, Carter attempted to send Crystal a picture of his Santa Claus-themed dress socks. But instead, the app sent Crystal a blurred image with a warning that the picture “might be inappropriate.” But, in spite of this gaffe, and several others that could not be mentioned here, Crystal agreed to their first date; dinner at Sullivan’s Steakhouse. And the rest as they say… is history Since that time, Crystal and Carter have celebrated each other’s birthdays (Carter was way out-gifted by Crystal last year.) They’ve celebrated Christmas (much to Carter’s surprise, Crystal’s father asked Carter to be in the family photo rather than taking it). Carter and Crystal got COVID (Crystal, the nurse, says twice, Carter, the lawyer, says he needs a positive test before he considers it factual). They’ve traveled to Sequoia National Park, swam with turtles in Maui, and watched, a now-struggling, Alabama football team win against Mississippi State, live in Tuscaloosa. They’ve adopted a dog; her name is Nugget and she’s the sweetest (Yes, they did DNA test her… she is a Rottweiler, Pitt, and Chow Chow mix, but she takes after her loving Daddy…adorably sweet). Carter was made for Crystal, just ask the “babies”: Bridget, Gwendolyn, and Slater. Not only do they love him, they call him “King Carter” because that’s who he is; The KING, not just an uncle. Meanwhile, he is trying to teach them to call Crystal, “Queen Cookie”, instead of “Aunt Carter”…her current name.
