Josh and Courtney first met in high school at Sussex Tech. They were both in the Media Broadcasting technical program. Josh was a senior when Courtney was a freshman. Josh has always been involved in helping with the Media Broadcasting program post-graduation, so they stayed friends while Courtney was in high school but then lost touch after Courtney graduated in 2011 and went off to college in Baltimore.

In 2015, Courtney was crowned the Mar-Del Watermelon Queen. At the time, Josh was working at WMDT as News Operations Supervisor. Their department often interviews the Watermelon Queen at various community events throughout their tenure. Courtney would always look forward to seeing Josh at the interviews and Josh was almost always there. The penultimate interaction between them was at the 2016 Delaware State Fair.

After the State Fair, Josh and Courtney texted off and on for a few months. One day, Courtney had to shoot a video at Sussex Tech for work, and asked Josh if he would be there too. Josh's reply? Yes! But would you like to go get dinner before then? If you know Courtney, you know her schedule is ALWAYS packed, so she told him she would love to, but she was headed to Boston to visit family and didn't know if she would be able to before but would love to after. Josh thought she was nicely telling him no. As luck would have it, a few days later a major snowstorm was scheduled to hit Boston and the trip got cancelled! Courtney immediately texted Josh to see if he was still interested and set a date.

After much debate and a lot of polling around the office, Josh picked the perfect first date at Touch of Italy! Josh was delighted to find out that Italian is Courtney's favorite food! Courtney also did not know this was a "date date" until Josh opened the car door for her.

Courtney and Josh have been together for 8.5 years! They love traveling, kayaking, going on picture hikes, going to concerts, watching movies, attending festivals, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends and family. Some of their favorite outings have been visiting the Grand Canyon, Vegas, Disney World, Fallingwater, Pittsburgh, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

On December 26, 2016, Josh asked Courtney to be his girlfriend at the Winterfest of Lights in Ocean City. Since then, visiting the lights has become an annual tradition. On December 26, 2023, Josh asked Courtney to marry him at the same spot surrounded by their friends and family.

Josh and Courtney can't wait to say "I Do" on September 20, 2025. They are looking forward to celebrating and making memories with so many of the people they love!
