We first caught one another's eyes while Stephen was skateboarding down 119th in Whiting, IN with some friends. He yelled "Hey girl, let me get your number." I laughed it off and continued walking in the opposite direction. We shared this hilarious encounter with a friend who immediately let us know "you met my friend Stephen/you met my friend Connie!" Fast forward a couple weeks and we officially met at Pierogi Fest circa 2003. We dated briefly in high school, eventually became best friends and slowly found our way back to each other. It's true what they say, "what's meant to be will always find its way." I once read everyone has a friend during each stage of life. But only the lucky ones have the same friend in all stages of lives. We have been through most stages of each other's lives and that is one of the biggest blessings - getting to marry my bestie!
