It all started with a dm ;) On May 25, 2018 Logan direct messaged me on Instagram, “Probs a long shot but are you available next week?” I replied, “Hi I’m sorry but I’m not sure if I know who you are.” We went back and forth a few more times but that was it. Then on June 16th I reached back to him and said, “Hey if you are still down I’d love to maybe get some coffee sometime and become friends.” To my surprise we set a date that Friday June 22 and ended up hiking Pisgah with our dogs Boomer and Harley. After the hike we met up for ice cream at Dairy Queen then the next morning we met for coffee at Hideaway before he left for his 21st birthday. Instantly we became really good friends and it was so easy to talk. We met each others families within the first or second week of knowing each other and of course Logan already knew my entire friend group. A month later on July 23rd Logan asked me to be his girlfriend. A month later, after only knowing each other for two months, I left for college in California. We had a long talk before I left, and we both knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We simply fit together. God had a plan and we could feel it. I was away for 5 months then ended up moving home. A year later, Logan left for boot camp and was gone for a little over 6 months. Being long distance, it really became evident how in this we both were. We were dedicated to each other and it was truly never that hard being long distance.
On our 4 year anniversary Logan planned a whole day for us. Starting with coffee then hiking up Mt Pisgah to recreate parts of our first date. After the date he had dinner reservations to a few of our favorite restaurants. During our hike it was hot. The entire way up both Logan and I were dripping sweat. We had a heavy back up on with champagne, a picnic blanket, and a ring ;) I had no clue what was in the backpack tho, just that it was heavy and not helping with the sweat and heat. When we got to the top we walked around to try and find a good spot. Logan laid down the blanket then surprised me with the champagne. He had me stand up to open the champagne and when I turned back around Logan was on one knee. He asked me to marry him and without a pause I said yes. It was the perfect day.
