Colleen and Davis met at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where they both attended undergrad. Even though Colleen was from New York and Davis was from Colorado, they felt completely at home with one another. After dating for a few weeks, Davis asked Colleen to be his girlfriend on April 18, 2014. On 4.20.2024, Colleen and Davis will not only be celebrating their wedding, but also their 10 year anniversary! Colleen and Davis continued dating throughout college. After graduating from Rollins, Colleen stayed in Winter Park to be with Davis. That year, Colleen decided that she wanted to pursue her PhD in English. Davis was extremely supportive and the two of them came up with a list of programs that Colleen applied for. At Davis' senior fraternity formal, which was also the couple's anniversary weekend, Colleen got the phone call telling her that she had been accepted to Arizona State University! Colleen accepted that day and the couple celebrated their soon-to-be desert home. That summer, Colleen and Davis packed up Colleen's car and drove cross-country from Florida to Arizona to look at apartments. They found the perfect place in Scottsdale, Arizona. Colleen started studying and teaching English at ASU. Davis quickly found a job in finance. In March of 2017, Colleen and Davis decided to grow their little family and adopted their beautiful dog, Ivy. Ivy has been their pride and joy ever since. In July of the same year, Ivy decided she needed a little more space and Colleen and Davis moved into their condo in Scottsdale, where they have lived ever since. After Colleen completed her PhD in May 2021, the couple decided to stay in Scottsdale, a place they had both truly fallen in love with. Colleen settled into her new job as a community college professor and Davis accepted a new role in finance. Things were all starting to fall into place. Since moving out west, Colleen and Davis had talked about exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. In July of 2022, they finally decided to take the trip. Before driving to the parks, they decided to visit Davis' mom in Colorado with Ivy. Their first day in Colorado, Colleen asked Davis if he would like to hike Sugarloaf Mountain in Boulder. Little did she know she was working right into Davis' plan! The first time that Colleen visited Davis' family in June of 2014, the two of them hiked Sugarloaf, the mountain that Davis grew up on. Since then, the hike had become one of their favorites and they did it almost every time they visited Colorado. On July 17, 2022, Colleen and Davis made their way up Sugarloaf Mountain. It was a perfect day, clear skies and gorgeous warm weather. When they reached the top of the mountain, Davis gave Colleen a pair of binoculars so she could look for his childhood home. When Colleen turned around after finding the home, Davis was down on one knee ready to propose! After the sweetest proposal, Colleen said yes to forever! Colleen and Davis spent a perfect afternoon on Sugarloaf surrounded by nature and butterflies (literal and figurative). That evening they celebrated with Davis' family. A couple of days later, Colleen's family flew from New York to Colorado to join the celebration. It was a wonderful time! Since then, Colleen and Davis have been busy planning a magical wedding day that they cannot wait to spend with their family and friends! Their wedding venue is located of the Scottsdale greenbelt, where they have lived and walked nearly every day since moving to Arizona. They cannot wait to share their wonderful home city with their loved ones in April 2024!
