Colleen and Charlie met many years ago in the golden days of youth. Colleen was the prettiest girl on campus, and Charlie knew it. They loved each other and flirted tremendously. Then Charlie left to become a priest. Years passed and Colleen and Charlie hardly saw or spoke to each other (except for that one gala they both attended when Colleen wore exquisite yellow high heels. Colleen was the prettiest girl at the gala, and Charlie knew it). And when seven years had passed, and Charlie had left the seminary, they both met again on a hot August day in Murphys California. Charlie had driven across Yosemite to see Colleen and he was literally shaking. They shared cool drinks and were too nervous to eat their lunches, but they talked and talked and planted the seeds of a new life. And now, by the grace of God, they will be married on August 11th, the feast of Saint Philomena, Powerful with God, and both of their hearts are filled with joy!
