Once upon a modern love story, on July 10, 2022, Taylor and Rob's tale began... not with a chance meeting at a grand ball or a fateful encounter in a bookstore aisle, but with a swipe on Hinge. Taylor had posted a prompt on her profile stating, "Being an adult requires two things: a headboard and a mounted TV." Rob, intrigued and eager to impress, swiped right, confessing, "Well, I'm halfway there—my TV isn't mounted" Little did they know, this exchange was the first step towards a journey filled with laughter and love... and for the record, there's a TV mounted in the apartment now. Their first date wasn't supposed to be until July 18 at the Spaniard, but Taylor, struck by a wave of impatience and excitement, couldn't wait to meet Rob. She invited him over for a wine night on her apartment's rooftop. On July 15, under a starlit sky, their story began. Taylor, ever the interrogator, decided to grill Rob with 20 questions that would make the FBI nod in approval, from where he went to elementary school to the last four digits of his Social Security number. Rob, perhaps smitten or simply too honest, complied, risking his identity for a chance at love. He claims that Taylor didn’t let him get a word in during this entire conversation, but one of us did win “most talkative in middle school and again… in high school.” That first night Taylor was overwhelmed by his charm and good looks. "Could he even be real?" she wondered. At the end of their first date, she walked him outside to catch his Uber where he spun her around, dipped her into his arms, and gave her the best first kiss of her life. She knew then... "This is the man I'm going to marry." As fate would have it, Taylor traded her high-rise studio for Rob's 1-bedroom in Astoria within a few months. One morning he offered her the promise of WiFi and central AC and she never went back to to Manahttan. And let's not forget Millie, Taylor's dog, who blatantly chose Rob as her favorite human—a betrayal Taylor forgives as she watches the love of her life play with their furry friend. Their whirlwind romance continued throughout the summer when Rob finally admitted he was absolutely in love with Taylor. I mean... who wouldn't be? Over the course of the next year, they traveled around the world, celebrated holidays, and birthdays, and as many of you know... attended SO many weddings together. In a world where swipes often lead to fleeting moments, they found something permanent—a love built on laughter, sarcasm, and loving their puppy... Millie.
