If you ask them, Patrick and Erin likely each have their own version of how their story began, but here's the gist: they first crossed paths through mutual friends and often bumped into each other around campus. Eventually, Patrick asked Erin for her number, and they went on their first date on October 5th, 2019. They spent the day hiking and kayaking at Lake Griffy but didn't want the date to end there, so they decided to grab some ice cream and watch a movie. By the time the date was over, they had been together for about 9 hours! Just a few weeks later, on Halloween, they officially became a couple! Fun Fact: Erin and Patrick had some of their engagement pictures taken at Lake Griffy, where they had their first date!
For Labor Day weekend, Patrick suggested a getaway to the Smoky Mountains, and Erin was all for it! The two had been talking more and more about engagement, rings, and the future, so Erin couldn’t help but think this might be the perfect opportunity for a proposal. However, Patrick had been doing a great job of throwing her off his scent. On the second day of their trip, they made their way into the park for a hike. At the end of the trail, Patrick suggested they take a break by a creek, so they climbed out onto a large stone in the middle of the water. That’s when Patrick got down on one knee and asked Erin to marry him! That night, they celebrated by going to dinner, making piña coladas, and calling friends and family to share the exciting news! Fun Fact: Morgan, Erin's maid of honor, helped Patrick pick out the ring!
Patrick is a teacher working in the Indianapolis area. He is currently teaching 5th and 6th grade math (how fun!) Seriously though, he loves his job and truly enjoys working with the kids. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, playing volleyball and basketball, and playing video games! He also coaches volleyball and basketball throughout the year. Erin will graduate with her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy about a month before the wedding! She is excited to enter the workforce, begin her career, and start paying off her debt... In her free time, Erin loves to craft, draw, and spend time with her friends (and Patrick)!
