Dancing for joy when we moved to our first kitchen. Or was I dancing for joy because, unbeknownst to me, my future husband was just down the hall from us?

The day that Dan and I met, in a Whole Foods parking lot. He was sampling his bagels at the table next to us. Before then, I'd only caught glimpses of the mysterious "Bagel Man" in our building.

The day we met in the Whole Foods parking lot. I loved that he had a goofy side and made this giant bagel for the event.

When I was crushing on Dan pretty hard, he presented me with a pig's heart, somehow intuitively knowing how to win over MY quirky heart. He was learning how to butcher a pig, just out of curiosity.

On our first road trip, we went to Crater Lake, the redwood forests in Humbolt and then Lava Beds National Monument.

Being small business owners means trying to fix a lot of stuff on your own, it was convenient having Dan down the hall when stuff broke.

A bagel man, his sacks of flour, and his proud girlfriend.

At the top of the Santa Barbara courthouse with my mom.

My family very much appreciates Dan's turkey gravy (it's the best), stuffing, carving skills, and for running the kitchen like a tight ship.

Ringing in the New Year at a Tycho concert with my BFF Sarah Patterson who took the photo.

We're feeling retro in my Great Uncle Hugh's shades.

Lunch with Marirose in San Miguel de Allende for Isaac and Jen's wedding.

At our friends' Isaac and Jen's wedding in San Miguel de Allende. My biz partner Marirose took the pic.

Cousin time with Sarah & Gloria Tabb and Sarah's husband Kevin. The Tabb girls are like sisters to me (you too Laura!).

Our trip to New Jersey to meet Dan's family. I had no idea, in this photo, that he would propose to me in a couple of hours.

Dan proposed to me on the Hudson River by the George Washington Bridge at sunset. I will never forget the way the light lit up the world around us.

Basking in the moment.

More basking.

A romantic walk through Central Park the day after Dan proposed, on our way to the Guggenheim. The band of my engagement ring is cast from a twig in Central Park, a nice reminder of this special day.

Our visit to the Guggenheim the day after Dan proposed. Hilma da Klint's show, and her symbolism with the color green, inspired me to get a green stone for my engagement ring.

Art is too much fun.
