In December 2013 we visited the DSWT and while there, adopted a baby elephant called Tusuja! ..Yap! We have a baby elephant in Kenya !

In Naivasha, Kenya: We enjoy outdoor hikes and explorations. The more rugged & un-trodden the terrain, the better. Hell's gate was different; as a hiker, you get both terrain & awesome views!

Karen, Kenya : We fed giraffes at the Giraffe center in Kenya. After this, we visited the Karen Blixen gardens , home of the Danish author, best known for her authorship of 'Out of Africa'.

In Columbia, South Carolina : Outside the Thomas Cooper Library where Irene spent numerous hours studying towards her PhD .
On this day, we had returned to her alma mater as she was a guest lecturer

We made it to one of the peaks of HG gorge. Fun Fact: They filmed Lion King here..remember the iconic scene when Mufasa lifts up his son Simba? Yap this is the peak that was used as inspiration!

Kitale, Kenya: At our traditional Engagement Ceremony in Kenya! Culturally, Irene's future husband is to ask for her hand in marriage from her father...The ceremony called 'Aiyee' was held in Kenya.
