Crestline is an adorable mountain town tucked in the forest of the San Bernardino Mountains with an honest to god mom and pop grocery store.  Think about staying for the whole weekend for some small town fun. Soak in the sun and fresh air on a hike. Go to Lake Gregory and enjoy a day on the water, fishing, swimming boating and a giant waterslide. Lake Arrowhead is just a few more miles up the mountain there you can feast on Papagayos in the Lake Arrowhead Village.
