This love story began our freshman year of high school. A new transfer student enrolled into the school and I will admit I noticed him but I’d like to think he saw me first, LOL! I definitely wanted to play it cool but I thought he might have been a lil cute or whatever! Well it just so happen we ended up being in a class together and I was able to get a better look and whew child, he was really ca-ute! Eventually, Chris came over to speak to me and we quickly built a friendship which eventually lead us into “dating” by the end of our freshman year. While we didn’t remain at the same high school we were definitely each other’s high school sweethearts and attended each other’s prom and everything else! As life would have it, we both went to college but in different states. And as most college kids do, we ended our relationship, but shortly after I graduated in 2010, we decided to give it another try and during that time we had our amazing son, King. Chris and I have had our fair share of ups and downs and over the next few years we decided that our priority would be King and focusing on being better parents for him; but God truly laughs at our plans. As we became better parents for our son, we were able to remain amicable and even able to take family vacations. At some point, in my very own Aiesha way, LOL, I told Chris the next time we get back together you just need to go ahead and marry me……and he did just that! While we were on King’s 7th birthday trip, Chris surprised us with a dinner date the night before heading back to Chicago from DC. While at dinner, I was sitting down, browsing through my phone and out the corner of my eye, I see Chris walking towards me with someone behind him recording and he proceeds to get on his knees. I was soo excited and anxious but soo elated that Chris saw me as the person he would want to spend the rest of his life with....he proposed and of course... I said YES! On Saturday, August 29th, 2020 we were engaged and on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, we will become ONE!
