Our story, like most of the great love stories, is one of chance, persistence, and a little luck. In October 2017, we both attended "Taste Like Chicken" an annual cookout hosted by our friend Chandler and her family. Karrah always made the trip back from Raleigh for this event and Charlie was a first time attendee. After being introduced, we spent most of the afternoon chatting about Raleigh restaurants, NC beaches, and sharing our coaching philosophies. Coach Durham's middle school soccer team was disciplined and tough, reflecting their coach's hard nosed style while Coach Walker's basketball team always played loose, mirroring the fun loving player's coach. Nothing has changed. Two months later, Charlie finally found the courage to ask Karrah on a date. We settled on The Eddy Pub, a quaint bistro in Haw River, about halfway between our two homes. Charlie ordered quiche with a side salad and Karrah ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Nothing has changed. We spent the next year traversing Interstate-40, eating burgers and side salads at countless NC diners, and falling further in love. Nothing has changed.
