Question

In light of the pandemic, are there any precautions being taken?

Answer

As we must face the reality of the pandemic and how it has affected our lives, we want to make sure our guests can all celebrate safely. To that end, all adults must be fully vaccinated and to have received a booster shot if that is available to you. Please note that this will be a mostly indoors event. If you test positive for covid within 72 hours of the wedding of the wedding, we kindly ask you refrain from attending.

What is the dress code?

We would love for you to celebrate our special day in formal / cocktail Western attire (suits & ties for men please ) or traditional South Asian attire

Will there be halal meal options?

Answer

Seafood, vegetarian, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available

Is there a hotel room block?

Answer

Yes, we have reserved a room block for Saturday and Sunday night at the Hilton Garden Inn and Four Points by Sheraton in Melville, Long Island. Please see the “Travel” section for more details.

Is there traffic driving to / from Long Island?

Answer

Yes, please factor in traffic if driving to the venue. We estimate 1 - 2+ hours driving from the city depending on traffic.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Driving is likely the easiest option; however the Long Island Railroad (regional commuter rail) stops at Farmingdale (4 min drive/30 min walk from the wedding venue - cabs are usually available) and can be taken from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, Atlantic Terminal in downtown Brooklyn, or Jamaica station (Jamaica, Queens).

Will transportation be provided for hotel guests?

Answer

For guests staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Melville, the hotel will provide a shuttle bus for drop off and pick up.
