Things To Do

Our wedding weekend will take place in the Upper Valley, which includes towns right on the border of both Vermont and New Hampshire. We hope you have the chance to explore some of our favorite places! We love it up here, so we have a lot of recommendations to share.

The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm

1119 Quechee Main Street, Hartford, VT 05059

The Quechee Inn has a great restaurant you can check out - stop by and have dinner before our welcome drinks and dessert.

Simon Pearce

1760 Quechee Main Street, Hartford, VT 05059

A high-end restaurant with beautiful views, delicious food, a Simon Pearce shop, and chance to see glass blowing up close! Reservations recommended.

Pizza Chef of Quechee

5893 Woodstock Road, Hartford, VT 05001

Pizza restaurant with mini golf, right around the corner from our wedding venue.

King Arthur Baking Company

135 U.S. 5, Norwich, VT 05055

King Arthur Baking (KAB) is an amazing place to get breakfast, lunch, or a pastry. Don't forget to check out the baking store and if you want to channel the Great British Bake Off, sign up for one of their baking classes in advance!

Carpenter & Main

326 Main Street, Norwich, VT 05055

A nice spot for dinner and cocktails, right around the corner from where Tom lived throughout all of medical school.

Tuckerbox

1 South Main Street, Hartford, VT 05001

Catherine's favorite restaurant in the Upper Valley, with the best Mediterranean food.

Big Fatty's BBQ

186 South Main Street, Hartford, VT 05001

Laidback restaurant with delicious BBQ. Big Fatty's also has a crowler pit, where you can get freshly canned beer to-go!

TRAIL BREAK taps + tacos

129 South Main Street, Hartford, VT 05001

Enjoy a modern take on Mexican food in a fun atmosphere.

Wolf Tree

40 Currier Street, Hartford, VT 05001

Cozy cocktail bar with delicious drinks!

River Roost Brewery

230 South Main Street, Hartford, VT 05001

A favorite of Tom's! River Roost shares a parking lot with Big Fatty's - you can get cans or growlers to-go here.

Worthy Kitchen

442 Woodstock Road, Woodstock, VT 05091

Great food and great vibes. Worthy Kitchen is very popular (for good reason), so make a reservation if interested!

Mon Vert Cafe

28 Central Street, Woodstock, VT 05091

A cute cafe for coffee or lunch, right in downtown Woodstock.

Pine

2 East Wheelock Street, Hanover, NH 03755

Great restaurant overlooking Dartmouth's Green and Baker Tower. Get the Hanover burger - our personal favorite.

Lou's Restaurant & Bakery

30 South Main Street, Hanover, NH 03755

An iconic institution for Dartmouth students. They don't take reservations, so you have to wait in line, but it is worth the wait. You can also forgo the wait and grab some of their homemade desserts from the counter (the donuts are the best).

Hanover Scoops

57 South Main Street, Hanover, NH 03755

For our fellow Dartmouth grads - this is the new ice cream place up in Hanover. Get the maple creamee!

Molly's Restaurant & Bar

43 South Main Street, Hanover, NH 03755

Famous for their homemade bread and honey butter, $3 margarita, and Dartmouth memorabilia.

Jesse's Steakhouse

7 Blue Sky Drive, Hanover, NH 03755

A Kannam family favorite! Awesome brunch, salad bar, and of course, steak.

Quechee Gorge

Hartford, VT 05001

A beautiful spot to walk around or take a hike. There is also an overlook bridge with a stunning view of the gorge!

Norwich Farmers Market

Norwich, VT 05055

We've spent many a summer Saturday at the Norwich Farmers Market - would highly recommend stopping by on the morning of our wedding.

Gile Mountain Fire Tower

Norwich, VT 05055

A short hike that ends with climbing up a fire tower, which serves as a shortcut for incredible views.

Harpoon Brewery Taproom and Beer Garden

336 Ruth Carney Drive, Windsor, VT 05089

There is a beer hall with food and drinks, as well as an outdoor beer garden with lawn games. Harpoon is also in the same plaza as a distillery that serves cocktails on site (Silo) and another Simon Pearce store!

Explore Main Street in Hanover, NH

Hanover, NH

Downtown Hanover has a quintessential, New England charm. Check out the Dartmouth Co-Op, Still North Books, and the Nugget. Dirt Cowboy and Umpleby's are classic cafe spots.

Ledyard Canoe Club

9 Boathouse Road, Hanover, NH 03755

Rent kayaks or canoes and paddle along the Connecticut River!

Visit Dartmouth College

Hanover, NH 03755

Visit dear old Dartmouth while you are in the area. One of our favorite things to do is walk around Occom Pond - Pine Park is also beautiful and close by. Iconic buildings to visit border the green: Baker Tower and Dartmouth Hall. The Hood Museum has also been renovated!

Explore Downtown Woodstock, VT

Woodstock, VT

Stroll through Woodstock's charming shops and restaurants. Some of our favorites include Vermont Flannel Company, Woodstock Scoops, the Yankee Bookshop, and F.H. Gillingham & Sons.

Explore Downtown Norwich

Norwich, VT

Check out Dan and Whit's - a general store with lots of personality and giant soft serve ice cream cones! Norwich is also home to the King Arthur Baking Company, the Norwich Bookstore, and Norwich Knits. For kids joining in on the festivities - the Montshire Museum is a really fun, hands-on science museum. Catherine grew up going there, and our flower girls also highly recommend it.
