My Bibeth! My little big sister! Partner in crime in our family, and for NYC adventures. Not into Gatorland like I am - well, nobody's perfect. I take her out to get wild when I come to town. I love those sister dates. She can drink more than 4 drinks, promise. Origin Story: Well, she's my sister so... I was born and that's how we met. Products of a crazy, mixed family, we've had some very excellent adventures together in the midst of it all. When we were kids, the 4 year age gap seemed like a lot more, and while I looked up to her as my cool older sister who knew about hair and makeup and New Kids On the Block (my first concert, which we went to with our Dad for my 7th birthday, in Boston), I'm sure I was often the annoying little sister. Growing up with her has been awesome.

Ever since a fateful day in the summer of 1996, Ryan and Rudy have been the closest of friends. Spending their formative years together in the Blue Devils paved the way for a lasting friendship that continues to this day. As a close Friend, Confidant, and Colleague, Rudy plays many roles in Ryan’s life. And, as the friend that Ryan would be most likely be arrested with, it is a sure bet that adventure, fun, and maybe a little trouble will be had when Rudy and Ryan are together (boys will be boys, sorry Sarah). *DISCLAIMER: Having admirably strong feminist ideals, hearing “boys will be boys” is like nails on a chalkboard to Sarah. CHI LI! Small but mighty, like Mighty Mouse, but way hotter. Squinches her face up real cute when she laughs super hard. Will break you off when she dances. Snuggling her is THE best. Origin Story: I spotted Melissa at her first Blue Devils rehearsal, in 2003, and thought "so, Scott is letting 12 year olds march now?" - she's very little. Come to find out she was actually 19, and a total diva on a sabre. We hit it off immediately, and grew closer after that summer due to a lame scandal that she had to deal with - hey, it brought us closer together! When I moved to SoCal after my age out, we spent lots of time together, because I had no one else to hang with and she took pity on me. In return, I increased her alcohol tolerance. We both eventually moved North and never looked back.
George Wigfall

George and Ryan’s relationship has always more closely resembled that of brothers than friends. As Ryan’s oldest friend, he and George have literally grown up together over the last 30+ years. Bonfire parties in the delta have been replaced with a pint at the local brewery, but the lifelong bond remains. Quick to offer his opinion (which he would prefer to consider expertise), George is passionate and knowledgeable on many subjects. An enthusiast of Vans, v-necks, shotguns, and craft beer, George always keeps Ryan on his toes and continues to be a dearly valued friend.

Yads! We understand each other's crazy. Stood by me through thick and thin, Margs and tacos on deck. We throw solid over-the-shoulder red carpet looks because duh. Origin Story: She was my captain at San Jose Raiders for the 2003 season. My first real conversation with Yadi happened over the phone, end of October, 2002. I was somewhere in Nevada, in the midst of my move to Cali, when she called to let me know I now had nowhere to live, as everyone had been evicted from the apartment I was supposed to move into. "No worries though, we'll figure something out! See you in a few hours!" And that was a perfect introduction to Yadi, and the craziness that surrounds our friendship. But hey, we always figure it out!

Friends since high school and BFF’s for the last decade, Ryan and Daniel have had no shortage of great times together. If they are found together they are most assuredly participating in an activity. Whether it is Snowboarding, Golfing, bowling, or just catching a game at the pub, Ryan and Daniel are sure to make the most of the situation. Daniel is always a ready and willing wingman for whatever the next adventure brings.

The Bestie. Soulmate. Hard-ass. Crazy Eye. My Sunshine. She ignores my incessant affection mostly - except when she's tipsy. Then she tells me I'm pretty and asks how my skin is so soft. True story. Aishiteru! Origin Story: That 2002 Blue Devils Flag Line! I knew Heidi was a kindred spirit immediately, once we started talking to each other - from which point we never shut up! We got in trouble a lot for being such Chatty Cathys (Sorry Lala!). When I moved out the following fall to march Raiders, Heidi was one of only a couple people (Ryan being another, HA!) that made an effort to hang out with me, and get me out of the house. By the end of our second summer at Devs, I was completely in love with her (and she me, right Heids?). The rest, as they say, is history.

Since Ryan is 4 years Ricky’s elder, Ricky was often the figurative and literal punching bag for Ryan and his friends (Boys will be boys, Sorry Ricky!). However, in their maturity Ryan and Ricky’s relationship has transformed to one of respect and admiration. Living so far away, visits with Ricky are never often enough, but Ryan is sure to keep Ricky up into the early morning hours drinking cheap brandy or expensive wine and reminiscing when he gets the chance (boys will be boys, sorry Kelly!).

Cuddles. Been cuddlin' since 2005. I mother%#in' love my Cudds! Spiritual guide. Supportive to the end. Trust her implicitly. Boss bitch. We will BURN. IT. TO. THE. GROUND! Origin Story: Prior to being my Cudds, Linsey was my sabre instructor at the San Jose Raiders, and this is where I first met her. She was also a sometimes carpool buddy then, and began her repeated bad habit of hooking me up with jobs, by getting me a gig at Stanfords (sorry again about getting fired!). She was the most chill instructor I ever had, and would use her low-key humor in teaching, like "Ok, so you dropped that. Cool, cool. Maybe try it again and don't next time?" - it was only a matter of time before we became close friends. Then roommates. Then Cuddlers, which is a bond that cannot break. The end.
Adam Odello

Being so close in age, Ryan and Adam were very close growing up. From playing on the same soccer team, marching together at the Blue Devils, to hanging out with the same group of friends, the two brothers were often found together. Competitive in nature, Adam is always ready to remind Ryan of the long list of things he excels at. He is equally reliable for a great time or intense debate. Adam’s current interests include his son Luca, tattoos, Veganism, and low key internet altercations.
Nikki Lundberg

Pumpkin. Sweetest, truest, most loyal person alive. Pizza on the floor partner. Always has my back. Best laugh around, which is good, cause she is always laughing at my crazy. Origin Story: We went to high school together (Go Norse!), but Nikki was 2 years ahead of me. We never talked until she came back to help tech the rifle line after graduating. It was my first season EVER, and I really wanted to be good - I was not. She intimidated the shit out of me, standing in front of our rifle block, and I'm pretty sure I avoided eye contact with her, even when she was trying to help me. But, I worked my ass off, and not long after, we marched Jinx winter guard (where we became Pumpkins), and eventually, Blue Devils together... where she spotted a certain drummer staring at me like a creeper.
Andrew Odello

Even though Andrew is Ryan’s youngest brother, he is the one that Ryan now spends the most time with. Whether it is teaching or performing together, or hurling themselves down mountains on their snowboards, Ryan and Andrew are partners, colleagues and friends. Snowboarding, Playstation, drumming, and his awesome girlfriend Rose round out Andrew’s top interests (among other things not to be named in mixed company).

She's British. Don't fall in love with the accent. Once long lost, she found me, and now we share a mutually beneficial educational friendship, creating diplomacy between our great nations. And drink gin. We have excellent adventures together. I bloody adore her. Origin Story: She lived in my apartment during All Days when we marched Blue Devils together in 2003 (marching being a relative term, as she was in the pit). Woke up one day, and there she was, calling stores "shops" and throwing u's into words unnecessarily. We slept near each other on gym floors all across America. Though she was coveted by most of the male population of the corps that summer, being the beautiful English girl, Lynnette chose to date the guy who most likely wasn't really into girls. Go figure.

Ryan and Marco sharing experience as Blue Devils drummers set forth a long and close friendship. As roommates in their 20’s Marco and Ryan had many great moments and adventures together. Since those days, Marco has always been a reliable and trustworthy friend to Ryan, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. As “real adult life” has taken its hold on all of our lives, visits with Marco often include his wife Holly’s large Filipino family, a whole roasted pig, and a pay per view boxing match (hopefully featuring Uncle Manny Pacquiao ).

"I'm not her man, I'm her tran!" - truth. Retreat partner. Wedding/Holiday Party date extraordinaire. Former roomie. WE<3NYC. Pageantry, Tech, and Dance/Theatre - OM. Love this betch. Origin Story: RJ was a bit shy and kept more to himself when I met him at Blue Devils in 2002, but he was impossible to ignore. An amazingly talented spinner and performer, and a deeply sweet soul, we became friends quickly, and chose each other to be retreat partners that summer. He broke my heart by not marching his age out in 2003, but I kept him with me in spirit. RJ did come out of his shell, as it were, and lost that shyness, but remains sweet.. except for when you win gold at WGI, and he makes you cry by crying, then dries it up and tells you "stop crying, you're a mess." - but that's another story.
Joaquin Gomez

Since the Summer of 1995 Joaquin and Ryan have been bass drumming Blue Devil Brothers. After a few years in the Army (where he is still a reservist and in the Army band), Joaquin return to the Blue Devils to work with Ryan. The rest, as they say, is history. Joaquin has been a highly trusted friend to Ryan for many many years. Always ready to complete a task or start a creative project, Joaquin has always tried to help Ryan with whatever idea he had, no matter how crazy. There have been many late nights discussing all thing drum corps past present and future, and watch out for the all night DCI album sing alongs with DJ Tall Can Gomez.
