Hannah and Carson met for the very first time on April 16, 2023. Until that day, they were complete strangers. Carson—ever the gentleman—planned to pick Hannah up and take her on a lovely dinner date to Vincenzo’s. When he arrived, Hannah noticed he was wearing slacks and thought, “Wow, I’m impressed.” Right then and there, she was pretty much sold. Carson, on the other hand, thought, “Wow, she's beautiful... and she talks a lot…” and mentally buckled up for an evening on the town with Miss Chatterbox. From 84th and Holdrege to the Haymarket, Carson wasn’t sure he’d get a single word in. Little did he know, this would be the soundtrack of the rest of his life. All jokes aside, the dinner was wonderful, and neither wanted the night to end. Carson even managed to sneak in a few sentences—mostly because Hannah had bread in her mouth. After dinner, he took her to Ivanna Cone for dessert. Mid–coffee ice cream, Carson suddenly said, “You know what would be fun? Ping pong.” It was 9 p.m. on a Sunday. Hannah, always up for anything, replied, “Oh my gosh, yes!” And off they went to the Hudl building for several competitive rounds of ping pong, so late it felt almost illegal. Afterward, Carson walked Hannah back to the parking garage. Along the way, Hannah suddenly exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, look at that man walking two corgis!” Carson looked around—there were no people, no dogs. Turns out, Hannah had mistaken a light pole and two e-scooters for corgis, thanks to not wearing her glasses. Still, the night wasn’t over. Neither of them wanted it to be. So Hannah asked, “Do you want to meet my wiener dog?” How could Carson say no? This was the moment Bean the dog sealed the deal. Despite Carson’s immediate and intense allergic reaction, he and Bean became instant best friends. But without an allergy pill on hand, Carson had to leave around 3 a.m. As they said goodbye, both were convinced they’d embarrassed themselves and would never see each other again. What Carson didn’t know was that Hannah was already smitten and knew she’d met someone special. What Hannah didn’t know was that Carson thought she was the most fun person he’d ever met—and he couldn’t wait to see her again. It turned out they were the perfect mix of chaos and calm.
