While waiting to go to the Maroon Bells, Lauren went up to the ticket counter to say hello to Matt who was working that day. The two had seen each other before, but this is the first time they really had the opportunity to talk. They discussed their favorite foods, local restaurants and the music scene in town. They enjoyed their conversation so much they decided to grab dinner together that night. At dinner they realized how many friends they had in common, and even learned of concerts they both attended at the same time! It was like their paths had crossed a hundred times before, but fate waited until the perfect moment for them to meet.

While on vacation in Cape Cod, Matt asked Lauren to take a walk along the beach at sunset. They were both being goofy and dancing with their shadows. Matt said "Ok now don't turn around, keep looking at our shadows". Lauren stared down as the sand and saw Matt's shadow slowly bend down on one knee. "Lauren, will you marry me?" he said. She was so surprised she nearly fell over and was totally speechless. She turned around to find Matt down on one knee and he said "well will you?" and of course she said YES!
