We're getting married!

It was May of 2016 when Tyler followed Katie on Instagram and started liking her photos. Katie's first thoughts: "Who is this man??" Detective mode activated, Katie requested to follow Tyler and started to look through his profile as well. Intrigued, she also started liking his photos. Not long after, Tyler messaged Katie. His first question: "When can I take you out on a date?" Queue the day of their first date.. Tyler pulls up to her family home in his very loud, very bright red mustang. Tyler refused to leave however, until he met Katie's dad. Now, if you knew Kevin back in 2016, you'd know that he was a loud northerner who wore a butchering knife chain around his neck (he's still a loud northerner, but has since ditched the meat cleaver chain). Typically, Katie's mom would have been home and would have brought a bright and enthusiastic balance to Kevin's tough facade. However, Lisa was out of the state this weekend. Katie, of course, wanted to avoid this meeting and urged Tyler to meet both of her parents the next time they went out, should he pass the first date test! After many attempts of convincing Tyler otherwise, the true southern gentleman prevailed and Katie begrudgingly and VERY quickly introduced the two and then they were on their way, speeding off in Tyler's roaring sports car - sorry Jekyll Lane! Katie and Tyler arrive at the movies, get their drinks and snacks and take their seats in the theatre. The opening credits roll, the movie begins and Tyler proceeds to talk the entire length of the movie. Looking back, a movie on a first date probably wasn't Tyler's best pick since we all know this man can talk for hours. Despite this, Tyler passed the first date test! After their second date, Katie's mom Lisa finally met Tyler. Lisa could tell he was the one and that Katie's Grammy who had just passed away in March of that year, had sent Tyler to Katie as a blessing. Not too long after on June 26th, Katie and Tyler went to the drive-in movies. However, this time when Tyler talked during the movie, it was when he saw a shooting star (yes, we know - it's hard to believe, but it's true we promise), he asked Katie to be his girlfriend. Katie knew it was a sign and so their love story began. Eight years, three mustangs, 1,000 conversation filled movies, and a (not-so mini) "Bernie"-doodle later, Tyler finally asked Katie to marry him on her Golden Birthday weekend at the beach. But of course, with a little help from Katie's niece Delaney on her Golden Birthday weekend as well! And so another chapter of their love story begins!
