World wide pandemic, September 2020: Caitlin and Kevin met through Hinge (dating app) during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their first date was a walk along a mountain foothill in Boulder, Colorado. Without vaccines, dating at this time felt a little risky! They met wearing masks initially, but agreed they wanted to see each other's faces and felt safe enough to be mask-less outdoors. After walking and talking for over an hour, they decided to get some pizza (also outdoors) because they weren't ready for that first date to end! After a few months of enjoying dating, Caitlin and Kevin went their separate ways. Caitlin's midwifery fellowship ended, and she moved back to Washington. Even from Washington they didn't stop sending text messages to each other. In September 2021, Caitlin came to Denver to "visit her sister, " but spent most of the weekend with Kevin. They've been committed ever since. A short-lived long-distance relationship, a cross-country move (with Kevin toting Caitlin's plant-babies in and out of hotel rooms), a town house, and a dog (Pants!) later they are ready to say I-do!
We set out to RMNP to see the fall elk bugling. If you know anything about Caitlin, you know she loves an animal mating call. We set out on a trail, with suspiciously no Elk in sight. Surrounded by the mountains Kevin asks Caitlin if we should do these adventures for a lifetime-- or something like that (we don't remember, we both blacked out from excitement!). We then spent the evening in downtown Denver celebrating with drinks and the chef choice omakase sushi at Uchi! The best meal of our lives (so far)!
