Fourteen years ago, Caitlin graduated from the University of Miami and started working at Quality Meats in Manhattan. The first time she met Ernie, she thought he was unfriendly. She had just finished a shift and was at a midtown dive bar called Cassidy’s with a coworker and her date. Ernie sat quietly in the corner, not talking to anyone. First impression: not great. A couple of months later, Ernie started working at Quality Meats. Caitlin, recognizing the “unfriendly guy from Cassidy’s,” was determined to ignore him—and for the first few weeks, she succeeded. Eventually, though, everyone began hanging out with the fun, charming new guy. Ernie also had a habit of pretending he didn’t know what was going on so they could spend more time together during their shifts. Caitlin would later suspect this was intentional. From Ernie’s perspective, everything clicked the moment he saw Caitlin in the stairwell at Quality Meats. He loved Caitlin’s laugh, her confidence, and the fact that such a small person could have so much attitude. Their early dates involved going out for dinner—usually somewhere Ernie knew everyone. Ernie and Caitlin can't pinpoint exactly when it all started, but their first photo together was taken on January 10, 2013 at Rue. Their first trip was to Atlantic City, where Ernie ordered king crab legs to impress her and made her watch WWE. Caitlin recalls feeling comfortable with Ernie from the beginning, in a way that felt like home. Ernie remembers it a little differently, taking more time. Caitlin had her guard up, and he admired her for it. Only a handful of coworkers and friends were in-the-know during their early months together. Slowly, moment by moment, things became real: meeting Caitlin’s family at a restaurant overlooking the Hudson River on her birthday; then a trip to California in June, meeting Ernie's family and friends; summer on Block Island. The way Caitlin adored and cared for his cats, Christopher Moltisanti and Adriana La Cerva, sealed the deal. And finally, the ultimate sign: Caitlin’s rescue dog, Widdles -who was not a fan of most people- rested her head on Ernie's lap. Bribes involving ribeye bones may have been involved, but the verdict was clear. This was real, this was special, and it was meant to be.
Most nights, Ernie makes dinner and asks Caitlin what she wants -- fully prepared to cook whatever she says or somehow work it into what he already planned. He packs "Lawyer Lunches" and orders jamón iberico when Caitlin has an important deadline looming. Food is love in this house. Every day, Caitlin and Meadow Soprano walk Ernie to the door when he leaves for work or a show. Without fail, after he calls the elevator, he pops his head back out for one more "see ya, pooch" and "I love you". They’ve shared big milestones—road trips and passport stamps, home movies filmed around the world, building the Big Woozy Band (formerly known as Midtown), Caitlin graduating from law school and passing the bar exam—as well as harder chapters that required patience, resilience, and showing up for each other over and over again. They balance each other out. They pick up each other’s slack, respect each other’s boundaries, give space without judgment, and fully support each other’s dreams—even when those dreams involve detailed itineraries, last-minute changes (like getting a new passport the day before international travel), or cooking all day just to watch the other take the first bite. Their days are filled with small rituals: foot rubs, inside jokes, post-it notes hidden in Ernie's suitcases, quizzing Caitlin about what song is on the radio, and Meadow Soprano acting like a two-year-old best friend to both of them.
Ernie proposed at the Alcázar in Seville, Spain. After a tour, they spotted an orange cat who looked just like their beloved Christopher Moltisanti. Caitlin followed the kitty down winding paths in the garden, which led them to a secluded pool with gorgeous tiles and a quiet bench beneath an alcove. As soon as Ernie saw it, he knew this was the spot. When Ernie dropped to one knee, an Australian tourist happened to snap a photo at the same exact moment. What emotions or thoughts stand out most from that day? CAITLIN'S VERSION: I was shocked and happy. It felt like I was floating the rest of the day. ERNIE'S VERSION: The immediate feeling was that I was exactly where I should be and with the person I was meant to be with. So much so that I wished I had asked her sooner, because I had denied myself that feeling of completeness I did not know existed before I asked.
Family is everything to us—and sometimes, the universe does the planning for you. Our wedding date, 06/06/2026, was originally chosen because it is Caitlin’s late Uncle Timmie's birthday, who had promised to walk her down the aisle. When Ernie heard it was Caitlin’s “Moo’s” birthday, he said, “That’s the date!” and it was set. The rest fell into place. And, as if the signs weren’t enough, we later discovered it was also Ernie’s late Uncle Byron’s birthday. Some things are clearly meant to be. Martha’s Vineyard has always felt like home. Caitlin grew up with New England summers, and Ernie has his own childhood memories of the island. We’ve been visiting together since 2013, and when COVID hit NYC, the Vineyard became our sanctuary. We explored every lighthouse, wandered the cliffs of Aquinnah, spent quiet mornings visiting Caitlin's swans at the lagoon, and got lost (in the best way) in the woods. The woods, the wind, the sea, the salt air—it’s a little wild and perfectly us. Our family home, the Weku House, is a living, breathing place. Every season is different, but spring is our favorite: the woods and gardens burst with life, the island is quiet, and everything feels fresh and new. It’s a place where love, laughter, and tradition come together. Sharing it with our family and friends feels like passing on a piece of our story, our history, and the heart of who we are. We thought about eloping, but there’s no way we could celebrate our love without everyone we care about in a place that means so much to us.
Our wedding is a celebration of all the places and moments that make us happiest: 360 degree views of the ocean, walks in the woods, and the natural beauty of Martha’s Vineyard in June. When designing our day we were inspired by coastal elegance and European romance. From the lighthouse to the gardens, every detail has been tailored for the people we love in the places we adore so you also have the best night ever. Guests will share in our story through food and space, from Spain-inspired tapas to French-influenced family-style dining, finishing with New York City bodega-style late-night snacks. This is a celebration of love, family, and community—where the ocean meets the woods, and every moment reflects who we are together.
CAITLIN'S VERSION: Our dream is a life filled with unconditional, timeless love, family, and travel—growing old together and looking back on all the good times we’ve shared. In three words, our love is effortless, constant, and uncommon. My advice for building a lasting love story? Have fun together, embrace each other’s differences, ride the waves side by side, and fall in love with your best friend. ERNIE'S VERSION: Our future is about enjoying each other every day as we always have, building a family, finding a home with lots of trees (and swans), and living fully while balancing work and life. Our love can be summed up as fun, easy, perfect. For a lasting relationship, I’d say: laugh often, spoil each other, stay mushy, prioritize happiness, acknowledge how lucky you are, apologize even when you’re right… and help hide the bodies. Together, our dream is simple: a life full of happiness, love, adventure, and the kind of partnership that makes every day feel extraordinary.
