FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding venue located?

Answer

Our wedding will take place at Masia Casa del Mar, a stunning seaside venue just outside Barcelona. Set right along the Mediterranean, this historic “masia” (a traditional Catalan farmhouse) blends rustic charm with beautiful coastal views. Surrounded by nature and just minutes from the vibrant beach town of Sitges, it feels like a private escape while still being easily accessible, only about 25–30 minutes from Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Expect ocean breezes, golden sunsets, and the perfect backdrop for a celebration in Spain.

Question

What is the closest airport?

Answer

The nearest airport is Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), located about 25–30 minutes from the venue.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel?

Answer

Yes! If you’re traveling from outside Spain, you’ll need a valid passport. Be sure it doesn’t expire within 6 months of your travel dates.

Question

US/Europe Travel Law Changes 2026

Answer

Laws for US citizens traveling to Europe are expected to change in 2026. This will require US citizens to submit a ETIAS application online. (European Travel Information and Authorization System) Additional Information can be found here: https://www.etiaseu.com/us-citizens/etias-spain

Question

Will you have hotel blocks?

Answer

We’re currently working on securing hotel blocks and will share details here as soon as they’re available.

Question

Is transportation provided to/from the venue?

Answer

We are planning to provide transportation to and from the venue—details and pickup locations will be shared closer to the date.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Dress code is black tie optional. We encourage formal, elegant attire—floor-length gowns or sophisticated evening dresses for women, and tuxedos or dark suits for men.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late October in this part of Spain is typically mild and pleasant. You can expect daytime temperatures around the low–mid 70s°F (21–24°C) and cooler evenings in the low 60s°F (15–17°C). It’s usually sunny but can get breezy by the water, so bringing a light wrap or jacket is a great idea.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration with the exception of immediate family and wedding party children. If your invitation is addressed to “The Family,” your children are warmly included.

Question

Will there be events before or after the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We’re planning additional celebrations around the wedding weekend. Details will be shared on our website as they are finalized.

Question

What happens if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please, contact us if you have any dietary restrictions or questions. The wedding menu can be adapted for those who have allergies, intolerances and plant-based diets. Also, during the cocktail hour, there will be appetizers available that will be modified for those under this section and the servers will explain everything they serve to ensure everyone knows what they are eating.

Question

Do we need special converters/plug adapters?

Answer

The plug types used in Spain are types C and F and operate on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. You will need a power plug adapter for sockets type F and a voltage converter to protect your devices since the standard voltage in Spain is much higher than the level that devices typically operate at in the US.

Question

Should I tip in Spain?

Answer

Tipping in Spain is quite different from the U.S. and is entirely optional—there is no established minimum. In restaurants, for example, you may choose to leave a small extra amount for exceptional service, but it is never expected or calculated as a percentage. A tip is simply a thoughtful gesture, not an obligation. If you do wish to leave a tip for outstanding service, a range of 5–10% is more than sufficient. Not leaving a tip is never considered rude.
