While you’re in Estes Park, we highly recommend taking some time to explore The Stanley Hotel, the setting for the book "The Shining" (although not where the movie was filmed.) You can choose from daytime tours or their evening experience which is inspired by the movie. Grab a drink at the 217 Wine Bar or at the Cascades Whiskey Bar before visiting a live event like music, comedy, and interactive magic shows.
Explore Downtown Estes
Walk up & down the street, peeking into small shops that offer a variety of items, handcrafted arts, apparel, and more. You can also find locally owned restaurants, craft beers, handmade pizza, and everything in between.
Rocky Mountain National Park
A visit to Rocky Mountain National Park is a must while you’re in Estes Park. It’s just minutes from town and easy to get to, making it a great option if you’re looking to spend some time outdoors. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxed walk or a more adventurous hike, there are plenty of trails through forests, along streams, and past waterfalls. It’s a beautiful way to experience the area, with views of the Continental Divide and towering mountain peaks that make Estes Park so special.
Estes Park Ride-A-Kart
Enjoy some lighthearted fun with go- karts, mini golf with scenic views, and bumper boats! Inside offers an arcade with classic games, batting cages, and a bungee trampoline. All new Trackman Golf Simulator is available with over 300 courses and multiple games for all ages and skill levels.
Lake Estes Marina
Chances are you spotted Lake Estes on your drive into town! If you're looking to get out on the water, Lake Estes Marina offers rentals for kayaks, paddle boards, and even pontoon boat for the family. You're also able to rent a bike from the marina to ride the 3.75-mile Lake Estes trail, which offers great views of the Continental Divide, as well as frequent wildlife sightings.
Lake Estes 9-Hole Golf Course
This 9-hole course sits right along Lake Estes and the Big Thompson River, with beautiful mountain views in every direction. It's perfect for a quick round of golf with chances of spotting wildlife.
