We’re getting married!

It was a December day while I was on vacation for the week when my mom asked me to go grab coffee with her. We ended up turning it into a girls’ shopping day. I was definitely not put together at all — just a normal, casual day. Meanwhile, it was a typical workday for Kolby. He had been working all day, so I didn’t think anything was out of the ordinary. After shopping, my mom dropped me off at home, and Kolby told me we were going to dinner with his parents at the casino and needed to be ready to leave around 6:00. A little later, he mentioned he had picked something up from a Facebook Marketplace deal — which wasn’t unusual for him — and asked me to guess what he had brought home this time. When we pulled up to our new house, I honestly thought it was a hot tub! He told me I needed to be blindfolded for my early Christmas present. He walked me through the house, and when he finally took the blindfold off, he was down on one knee surrounded by “Marry Me” signs and Christmas trees. It was my absolute dream proposal — made even more special when it turned into cheering from both my parents and Kolby’s parents, who had been there the whole time celebrating with us.
