We met at Germantown High School as two kids who loved the game of basketball. I had a crush on Jake since Freshman year & always knew there was something special about him. We had a few classes together (getting in trouble several times for flirting) but mainly saw each other before and after basketball practices or games. During our high school years, we were voted "most athletic", walked on winterfest court together, started officially dating senior year after one of our games, and even wore basketball shoes to prom. It's safe to say basketball was a huge part of our lives & sparked the beginning of our story together. Since high school, we have grown and changed in so many ways but are still such kids at heart. It's crazy knowing we lived 5 minutes away from each other for most of our lives & are now getting married! God has truly blessed us over the years & we couldn't be more thankful for how He brought us together.
December 2018, we took a spontaneous trip to Los Angeles, CA during one of our breaks in graduate school. The first night, Jake planned a night for us to go have a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday. Little did I know he had something else up his sleeve (literally). We enjoyed a beautiful night listening to music on a rooftop in the middle of downtown LA before going to dinner. As we stood up getting ready to leave for dinner, Jake got on one knee & proposed. It was truly a surprise & a magical moment we will never forget!
After graduating as Ohio State Buckeyes for undergrad, we both decided to pursue advanced degrees. Jake is currently working towards his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and I recently obtained my Masters as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. We just moved to Tampa, FL where Jake is completing his clinical rotation & I am working at a pediatric office. Our sweet golden retriever, Leia, loves the warm weather and the many near-by dog parks so far! We are excited for this new adventure together!
We love being active outside whether it's attempting to play golf, going on walks with Leia, or coaching little kids' soccer. We are MAJOR sports fans (Buckeyes, Gators, Celtics, Grizzlies, etc.), so watching games is always a must. We also enjoy exploring new coffee shops and restaurants (Sushi, Mexican, wings, and any dessert with Reese's are our favorites). We love traveling to different cities and seeking new adventures. Our church community is also important to us, and we enjoy finding ways to serve with it. On our lazy days we watch New girl, New Amsterdam, Criminal Minds, The Avengers, and old cartoon movies. :)
