Bri and Braedon met on a dating app. The first thing that Braedon said was “You have a beautiful smile”. We talked every day that week and met in person for our first date later that week. We met for dinner and talked for hours.
Everyone loves a good engagement story so here's ours. When we have talked about getting engaged, Braedon always made it sound like it wouldn't happen until the end of 2021. But he was just trying to keep a surprise hidden from Bri. Bri had plans to take fall pictures with her friends in Provo Canyon. It was a beautiful fall day and perfect for being outside. They took pictures for a while and stopped at an overlook on the way back down the canyon. You could see all of Utah Valley at sunset and it was beautiful. It's a pretty popular overlook for pictures and to see the sunset. Braedon was waiting at the overlook. He had set up a beautiful back drop with lights and roses. It even had both their names on it. He lined the path with candles and rose petals. When Bri saw him, she couldn't believe it was actually happening and the only thing she could say was "what are you doing here?" To which Braedon responded "What do you think I'm doing here?" Bri walked over to him and he handed her a golden snitch shaped locked (shout out to all the Harry Potter lovers out there). She opened it and inside it said "Will you marry me?" Braedon got down on one knee and held out the ring. Bri was more than a little shocked and all she could do was nod. To celebrate our engagement, we went to the restaurant where we first met: Olive Garden. It was fun to go back to the place that started it all and reminisce over the last 7 months. Our waitress was so excited for us and gave us a dessert on the house to congratulate us. A huge shout out to all the amazing friends that made this surprise so special including: Nicole Winegardner, Darci Larsen, Jenny Wood, Amber Lorenzen, Vanessa Gavilanes, and Talese Baxter.
