Lauren and Brent were placed in the same section in law school, but didn’t talk until about a month into the school year. Brent had been admiring Lauren from afar until one day he decided to sit at a table where she was eating lunch with their mutual friends and strike up a conversation. A few weeks later at Monster’s Ball Lauren was feeling bold (thanks to a few vodka sodas) and asked Brent for his number. The rest was history.

When Lauren's best friend, Megan, came to town, she said she wanted to take pictures at Pitt Street Bridge before dinner. Lauren and Brent arrived early, so Brent convinced Lauren to begin walking down the path without their friends so he could get a better look at the Coast Guard ship in the harbor. After walking for a bit, Brent stopped and pulled Lauren's hand to turn around. When she turned around he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand. After the proposal, Brent surprised Lauren with her parents and they all went to their favorite restaurant to celebrate.
