Through mutual friends, as so many St. Louis couples do! In the summer of 2014, we seemed to be ending up in the same places a lot. A friend's pool, the Cardinal's game, a house party... We kept in touch and made some visits to Philadelphia (where David worked) and Kansas City (where Breland went to school), but distance made things difficult at the time. However, once we both moved home to St. Louis in 2017, everything fell right into place :) and we've been together ever since!

There was nothing different about David wanting to go on a walk to a local park before a Sunday dinner. He showed up in a polo and khakis, while Breland had on an oversized hoodie and ballcap... again, nothing out of the ordinary here! It was a complete surprise when he got down on one knee at sunset with hidden photographers to capture the moment. We celebrated afterwards with our immediate families and couldn't imagine the evening any other way!
