Flight
While the traffic to and from LAX can be a real pain, it can't be beaten for prices on flights and convenience for our venue and hotels.
Flight
If you truly cannot abide LAX, BUR is the next best option. It's a bit more out of the way (especially if you're not super familiar with the Los Angeles area) and the flights are a bit more pricey, but it sure is a lot quieter and easier to get in and out of.
Hotel
Are you somewhere on the spectrum of vaguely to viscerally terrified of Los Angeles traffic? Are you worried about being on time for this reason? Do you want the California coastal experience while you’re here? Look no further than the Marina Del Rey hotel. They are right on the marina, they have a free shuttle to Venice Beach, and they are only 2.5 miles away from the venue and 6.5 miles from Los Angeles International Airport, so pretty centrally located.
Hotel
This is a really neat little hotel close to the venue, with lots of murals and a funky, retro vibe. It’s also more affordable than the first option on the list, so if you’re looking for a cool place to stay at a pretty good price, this one is definitely worth checking out.
Hotel
Still want the beach but a B&B is more your speed? Give this one a try. It has incredible reviews and is close to the venue.
Hotel
If you’re in the mood for tourist-y things and museums while you’re here, this is the place to stay. It’s much closer to all of the classic landmarks, and to Hollywood Burbank airport if that’s your chosen way to get here.
Hotel
Need a little Pasadena in your life? Who doesn’t? (N is biased as she was born there and if it were up to her she’d never leave) Bissell House is a stately Victorian house that’s been converted into a cozy BnB, and not only is it located within easy distance of all of the best spots to visit in Pasadena, but also the freeway you need to take to get to the venue. As an aside, this hotel is the furthest from the venue, so we recommend only booking if you are already familiar with how to get around LA, or are willing to double the amount of time you think you need to get from point A to point B.
Travel Note
In the county of Los Angeles, there are a few thousand AirBnBs, and they mostly tend to be apartment or loft spaces in the city proper. If you want to rent a house, just use the filters and a few nice spaces will pop up. To find an AirBnB close to the venue, all you have to do is input “Museum of Flying” and it’ll be the first result. Please note that things can get quite pricey, so if you want to go this route, book early.
