FAQs

Question

Why did we choose Mexico City?

Answer

If you are asking this, chances are that you have never visited Mexico City. Short Answer: it is an awesome city and we hope you use our wedding as an excuse to explore and experience something new. CDMX is the capital of Mexico and the fifth-largest city in the world. The amazing city brings together the thriving cosmopolitan vibe of the 21st century wrapped in the charm of its colonial past. With an unmatched food scene, gorgeous parks, art, and more museums than anywhere in the world (after London), there is something for everyone to enjoy. For those who have never visited, imagine Madrid, Mexico, and Los Angeles had a baby! Give yourself enough time to explore all of the wonderful things the city has to offer and be sure to check out our recommendations in the other tab! For us, sharing our big day with our family and friends is a priority. Besides all the food, culture, and architecture that Mexico City offers, it is also fun, accessible, and affordable. In essence, we wanted to make things as easy as possible for our guests to make it to the wedding. Mexico City offers a new city (for most) with direct flights that wont break the bank. By now you know us well enough to know we like variety and options, wherein Mexico City offers whatever you are looking for in a destination. Lastly, the wedding venue, Casino Espanol, is a nod to our Spanish ancestry as it is one of many social clubs founded around the world, including a Casino Espanol in Havana, Cuba.

Question

What are the different areas in Mexico City?

Answer

Areas of interest in Mexico City are Polanco, Reforma, and Historica. Historica: The wedding and wedding party will be in Historica, which is the historic aspect of Mexico City filled with old churches, the Zocalo government center, old rooftops, and historic architecture. Reforma: The downtown/brickell of Mexico City with many businesses, high-end hotels, stock market, and other commercial businesses. Expect to see many names that you are already familiar with and tall buildings with modern architecture that one would expect in a city's financial district. Polanco: The rodeo drive/design district of Mexico City. This area is packed with high-end restaurants, designer shops, rooftop bars, and parks. This area is nice for afternoon walking and shopping or special dinner event. Expect to see mid-height open architecture.
