Although we've been part of each others lives for years, neither one of us were paying attention. A long car ride may have sealed the deal. We were selectively paired up, thank you Resa, on the ride to Vegas. We used the 4 hours to ask a questions and get to know each other over a cup of coffee. (Bob would love to tell you how I tried to poison him!) Some drinks and our "first date" with his entire family was fun in Downtown Vegas. So when they say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, don't believe them! Our love followed us home!
After a stroll through the zoo to get some cardio in for the day we strolled over to the carousel to steal the brass ring, but they had closed for the night while we were hunting for how to get to the pandas!. We made our way to the rose garden for a stroll. It was a beautiful evening. There were a lot of people smelling the roses this day. Bob wanted to walk to the other side of the garden. I didn't know he was trying to get away from the crowds. This was my first time in the garden, so I was running around getting pictures of the different colors. We got to the far end and Bob caught up with me. We hugged and then just enjoyed hanging out in the garden. He then pulled out a beautiful wooden box. My heart dropped. I was not expecting our "workout" session to turn into this! I believe I may have started my ugly cry before he could even get the question out! Bob quietly asked, "Will you Marry Me?" and as I teared up I mumbled "YES!" and hugged him so hard. We hugged and i cried and hugged a little more. Once I was able to clean myself up we continued our stroll through the garden and Balboa Park towards the Prado. It was a magical day and I will now always have a sweet spot for rose gardens.
