We're getting married!

A crash course in our relationship through the years. You know us, you love us, now learn more about us.

Our story starts off like any typical college couple’s does. We met through friends, drank some beers, and danced around to Taylor Swift at our college bar. Our early days were filled with proud accomplishments like cotton ball sheep costumes and penguin cupcakes. We ended our college reign with the founding of the annual Chi Omega - Sigma Chi Beer Olympics, which lasted all of two years after we left. Slow clap for that one.

Then came medical school. One at Northwestern, one at Loyola. We were grateful to both stay in Chicago. It’s hard to say what would have happened if this was not the case. Between the hours listening to lectures at 1.5x speed and the late night study runs to Portillo’s, our relationship grew exponentially. We moved in together, got a dog, and our lives became intertwined. If you’ve ever gone through medical school, you know that it’s an emotional breeze and 100% of couples stay together. We made it through some tough times and came out of it alive and somehow thriving.

Literally, we went the distance. Get it?? A long distance relationship is not something either of us thought we’d be good at, but we’ve actually been killing it so far. We’ve both gotten a chance to fully pursue our professional passions, be independent real functioning adults (well, nearly), and our driving skills are now superb. We’ve remained entangled in each other’s lives, with the help of unlimited texts and calls (thanks Verizon plan), and our supporting friends and colleagues. Obviously we miss each other like crazy when we are apart, but Bo gets to snuggle with Sadie to help her cope, and Jonas gets to snuggle with his textbooks? And what better way to end this chapter of our relationship than with getting married and throwing a big party!

With the end of long distance now in sight, we’ve got our eye on the City of Angels. By the time we make the big move to LA for fellowships, it’ll have been over 10 years since we met. Wowza. 10 years since sneaking around upstairs in the sorority house. 9 years since graduating Northwestern together. 8 years since Sadie came into our lives. 6 years since “The Belmont.” 5 years since the move to Flint, MI. 4 years since the beginning of Cincinnati. 3 years since getting engaged in the mountains. And 2 months after our “I do’s.” It’s crazy to think what we’ve experienced already together is just a fraction of our lives to come. Can’t wait for what happens next. “It's a love story, baby just say yes.”
