Best Man
Josh is my brother and we have had a close relationship as long as I can remember. Growing up he always looked after me and let me join in on whatever cooler older kid stuff he had going on even when that wasn't exactly the cool thing for him to do. Josh has always been a role model for me and I was lucky enough to stand by him at his wedding. 10 years (and 2 amazing children) later, it's my turn to tie the knot and I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather have as my Best Man. There is no mini Schme without Schme. Love you brother.
Maid of Honor
Leigh is my oldest and best friend. We were inseparable and probably drove our parents crazy when we were younger. We met in grade school, and in high school we would devise ways to get her out of boarding school to spend the weekends together. One time she was grounded and not allowed to leave the house, so we pitched a tent in her yard so we could have a sleepover... clever, weren't we? We've traveled the world together, we moved across the country together and we lived in LA together up until I moved in with Andrew. Leigh, since day one I've always pictured every part of my life with you in it. We've been through it all together and I'm so pleased that through all of life's adventures, you'll be by my side. Thank you for showing me what it's like to have a sister. I love you!!!
Groomsman
Justin aka J-Town is one of my best friends from living in Los Angeles. Justin and I connected over our love of music like the Foo Fighters and Incubus and Kanye (old Kanye, not new Kanye) and have been to countless concerts and festivals together. I wouldn't have had half the fun I have had in post-USC LA years if not for Justin making me aware of some movie premiere or concert or party - or more often than not just buying an extra ticket assuming I'd say "yea I'm down". Town, we've been by each other's side through all sorts of adventures the past 7 years and know we will continue to have great times for years to come! I'm honored to have you there for one more big moment in my life in October.
Bridesmaid
Ruthie married my brother, Josh, and became my SISTER!!!! Their lives together started in Virginia, but they now live in Washington state, sharing the same coast as Andrew and me. Since then we've had the chance to visit each other's states and meet for a long weekend camping trip in Yosemite. We've made some amazing memories in a short period of time and I couldn't be happier to have you by my side both in life and on my wedding day! Ruthie, you are an amazing mother of rabbits, chickens and one good boy named Wayne. I can't wait to meet my soon-to-be nephew so I can spoil him and show him all the ways he can terrorize Josh, hehehe :)
Groomsman
Duncan is one of my oldest best friends. Once I got over the slight of not being invited to his first Saltus birthday party, we became especially close in early high school. We spent many a weekend exploring some old fort or devising some scheme to meet up with some girls. Even after Duncan went away to finish high school (and then college) in Ohio we remained very close visiting each other at school or reuniting in Bermuda over holidays for more laughs and plenty of stooks. Since living in LA, time with this 'rat' has been less frequent but we always pick up right where we left off! Dunc, was thrilled to be your side for your big day and honored you'll be returning the favor in October. Love you bredrin
Bridesmaid
Casey was my very first friend in LA! She also holds the title of The Match-Maker as she was my roommate at the time Andrew and I met and Andrew would not have come over for our house-warming party had she not invited him. Also, let's not forget all the perfectly crafted text messages she helped me create to reel him in (thanks, Case)! She also stood in line with me at a sample sale for 3 hours so I could find the perfect wedding dress and in Casey fashion, brought bagels. You're the most thoughtful friend, the best dog auntie, the silliest and goofiest partner in crime, down to clown, go with the flow, fellow foodie and lifelong pal. Can't wait to celebrate with you!!
Groomsman
Phil is maybe the oldest friend I have. We met at a nursery school tea party but became especially close when my family moved to Between-the-Walls when I was 8 - a 10 minute walk down the road from Phil's house. We spent endless afternoons kicking a ball about, playing N64 or swimming in the pool. I've been to Canada way more than your average person due to my many visits to see Phil at boarding school or college. Lately living so far away we've had to make the most of more limited time together but from Phil's visits to LA or my visits to Bermuda or various friend trips (Croatia, Jamaica, Chicago, and more) we never miss a beat. Along with Duncan and Josh, Phil has set a blueprint for how to be a great husband and I expect lots of sage advice on my big day! Love you man
Bridesmaid
Ayla and I met in LA. She has become one of my closest friends in this city. She is the friend I can call to do literally anything at any hour. You are the Never Let You Show Up to a Party Alone side-kick, my number one supporter, hype girl, choreographed dance partner, fun seeker and cuddle buddy. Ayla, I know I can always be my weird self around you without ever feeling judged. Probably because you're right by my side doing whatever weird thing it is I'm doing. If you're not, you're building me up and cheering me on from the sidelines by sending me encouraging voice notes. I know if you're there by my side, I'm in good hands!
Groomsman
Jesse is another person I've known since grade school but who I've become closer with in our post high-school years. We had a many a fun time in our college summers back in Bermuda be it at Newport Bermuda or Cupmatch or just a random night at Docksiders. These days, we often exchange emails about some crazy business idea one of us has (haven't found the right one yet but we're working on it!) or some stock we're monitoring. Since 2013, we've both lived in California - me in the better half of the state - and have made good use of the proximity to take some fun trips together. Jesse, you've always been someone I can confide in and and count on and I'm very glad to be able to count on you to guide me through this big moment. Also, Dumbledore died!
Bridesmaid
Lizzie and I were bound to be best friends one way or another, it was just a matter of time. She grew up in Bermuda (Andrew's hometown), moved to Easton (my hometown), but we didn't officially meet until I moved to LA. She was my first roommate, we lived in Hollywood and then moved into a house together in Los Feliz. We made some of the most outrageous memories together, my most formidable years in LA were with you, Liz. I can confidently say my life would not be as bright without you in it. I laugh so hard when I'm with you. I can't wait to be in Bermuda together for the first time ever!!
Groomsman
Matthew aka Mott is another friend that dates all the way back to first grade. Mott and I were always good mates but became especially close when a few of the other 'rats' all went off to boarding school in high school. We spent many an after school session in Adam's shed, Mott's garage, or Doug's yard, sitting off with the rest of the boys shooting the shit. Since those high school days, Mott and I have remained close - with him and Melissa joining Blair and I for Coachella one year and Blair and I joining them in the Azores last August for their wedding where I got to be a groomsman for Mott. Mott mate, always there for each other with no judgment (which I rate highly) I'll be glad to have you a part of my big day
Bridesmaid
Lara and I met in LA but I feel like we've been friends for many lifetimes. Andrew told one person he was going to propose and it was Lara. He told her so she could get me out of the house for the day. Lara spent the entire day with me and didn't say a word (I still can't believe you knew!!). Lara, you've been my rock through so much. We've molded together and individually into the people we are because of each other. You will always be a part of my life. I can't wait to one day be mischievous old ladies with you!
Groomsman
Alex aka Mendy is another one of my best friends from living in Los Angeles. Alex and I became fast friends bonding over our propensity for fun, our shared drive for success, and our similar outlooks on most things in life. As part of 'the trio' with Town, our Coachella streak stands at 6 in a row and we've mixed in a good deal of other festivals, Vegas trips, and Eastside day drinks among numerous other in LA and out of LA adventures. Mendy, I chose this picture of us staring longingly into each other's eyes because many of our other LA friends like to joke that we are dating but also because it captures our relationship well - we bring out the best (and the worst!) in one another but remain on the same page through it all.
Bridesmaid
Moe is one of my oldest best friends. We met on the field hockey field when we were in middle school. We were both goalies :) She was my best friend through high school and went to college with me in Frostburg. Since I moved to LA 8 years ago, a lot has changed but not us. We are always the same. I was there when she met her husband, stood by her side when she said her vows and now I am a proud auntie of her baby girl, Fiona. Maureen, I cannot wait for you to be in Bermy with me, and by my side through all the milestones to come!
Groomsman
Teddy aka Ted bridges the gap between my Bermuda crew and my LA crew. We've lived in LA together for 8 years now and he has suffered many close losses (and a few wins) on LA golf courses to me in that time but our relationship started in Bermuda as far back as grade school. If our dads are to be believed we're even 3rd cousins! From BYSP baseball teams to Gettysburg baseball camp to riding the Polini or getting up to similar shenanigans in Fairylands we had a ton of adventures growing up before we fell out of regular touch for a few years in college. But since we linked back up in LA, Ted's been a best friend always down to grab a beer or watch a random sports game or hit the links. Ted mon, couldn't imagine LA without you my man and I couldn't imagine my wedding without you either
Bridesmaid
Molly and I met in middle school and were immediately attached at the hip. We dealt with the trials and tribulations of our teenage years with a strong co-dependency that I think bonded us for life. Molly is the most fierce and loyal friend there is. If you are a friend in Molly's circle, she will always put you first and will bulldoze (with her 5'2" stature + 3" heels) any negative obstacle that comes your way. Whenever I'm with you, we're having so much fun! I love that you've come to LA so often to visit me that you've created your own friendships here. I can't wait for you to do the same in Bermuda!
Groomsman
Alex and I met in 2009 on study abroad in Amsterdam and have been close friends ever since. We had many a fun time that semester in Europe from celebrating my 21st birthday in Greece to getting lost in Dublin to countless nights at Duvel or some other Dutch bar. I'm pretty bad about keeping in touch with friends living in different cities/countries but Alex and I have been really good about seeing each other a few times every year since 2009. Whether visiting in LA or NYC or meeting up elsewhere like Bermuda or Charleston, we've been able to maintain a strong bond despite only ever having lived in the same city together for 5 months! Alex, you've always been one I turn to for advice, for a gambling partner or just for a good night out and I'm pumped to have you there in October!
Officiant
Josh, my big brother. I am so grateful for you. Having you officiate the wedding will make the day even more special. For those who don't know you, I will say you are one of the smartest people I know and can pack a punch with your wit and sarcasm. You are kind, thoughtful, an animal lover, a great brother, husband, and soon-to-be father!! You're so often the perfect cocktail of kindness and farce humor that I need in my day. We're always on the same page about everything and in knowing that, comes an eternal comfort. We've gone through it all together. Thanks for breaking the mold so Mom and Dad were less strict with me :) I couldn't imagine our wedding day without you in it. Thank you so much for playing such a big part!
