Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Blair Raughley and Andrew Masters
We know many of you will want to stay an extra day or two on either end to experience Bermuda, so below please find some recommendations on things to do while you're here!
Snorkeling

Snorkeling

October is a great time of year for Snorkeling. The water’s still warm (usually high 70s) and the visibility is better than in the summer. If you'd like to join a tour Andrew's friend Chase is running group tours on October 8th or October 12th. You can purchase tickets at the link below. If you want to go out on your own, we would recommend Tobacco Bay in St. Georges. You can rent gear there and swim right off the beach to some great snorkeling and enjoy a rum swizzle at the beach bar when you are done.

Beaches

Beaches

Bermuda's pink sand beaches are world-famous and while our wedding ceremony and Sunday beach day will take place on two of the island's best beaches, there are many other beaches you can explore on your own. The link below outlines some of the best.

The Terrace on Front Street

The Terrace on Front Street

Andrew's good friend Douglas runs this popular restaurant and bar on Front Street, the main street in the capital city of Hamilton. He has been kind enough to offer 25% off food and drink for all wedding guests - just mention our wedding and if anyone gives you any issues ask for Doug! We recommend a Dark and Stormy and grabbing a seat on the patio overlooking Hamilton Harbor.

Other Eating and Drinking

Other Eating and Drinking

The link below features a whole host of other recommendations for where to eat and drink. In Hamilton, there are numerous bars and restaurants along Front Street to grab a cocktail or a quick bite. Food to Try: Fish Sandwich, Fish Chowder, really anything with local fish! Drinks to Try: Rum Swizzle, Dark and Stormy Sushi: Pearl Sushi High-End: Harry's, Huckleberry or Mad Hatters Italian: La Trattoria Short Walk from Elbow Beach Hotel: Paraquet Restaurant (an Andrew childhood favorite) East End of the island: Wahoo's Bistro in St. Georges or the Swizzle Inn Bailey's Bay West End of the island: Frog and Onion in Dockyard or Swizzle Inn South Shore

St. George's & The East End

St. George's & The East End

On the East End of the island, guests can explore the town of St. George's - Bermuda's former capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the link below to book a historical walking tour with local guide (and fellow wedding guest) Peter Frith. Other East End points of interest include the Crystal Caves, Tobacco Bay Beach, Blue Hole Nature Reserve and Fort St. Catherine

Dockyard & The West End

Dockyard & The West End

A short ferry ride from the capital city of Hamilton will take you to Royal Naval Dockyard where you can explore the National Museum, shop for local crafts and goods or spend an hour jet-skiing or swimming with dolphins.

Golfing

Golfing

Bermuda features a number of gorgeous golf courses. For advanced players, you can check out Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton or the Mid Ocean Club in Hamilton Parish, or if you are looking for something fun but still challenging the Turtle Hill Golf Club at Fairmont Southampton features 18 par 3 holes with awesome views of the South Shore. You'll want to call ahead and reserve a tee time.

Fishing

Fishing

October is wahoo season in Bermuda and a few people have expressed interest to Andrew. If you'd like to book a trip on your own you can check out options at the link below or contact Andrew directly and let him know you are keen as a friend of his has offered to set up a charter if there is enough interest.
